Lauren Billings (but everyone calls her Lo) has a Ph.D. in neuroscience and before she made writing her full-time job, would spend her days doing nerdy research-type things wearing a lab coat and goggles. She is silly Mommy to two littles, wife to one mountain biking homebrewing scientist, bestie to a shoe-stealer, and an unabashed lover of YA and romance.
Christina Hobbs (but you’ll always hear Lo call her PQ) used to spend her days in a junior high counseling office surrounded by teenagers. These days you’ll probably find her on tumblr. She is married and absolutely not old enough to be the mom of a 14 year old (right??), thinks she’s the luckiest person in the world to write books with her best friend, and is an unapologetic lover of boy bands and glitter. She also likes to steal Lo’s shoes.

He watches me in a way that feels like he’s seeing more than my face looking up at his or my breasts shifting with his movements. He’s seeing me. The heat of it makes me wild, like skin singed, blood simmering.
“I feel like we have forever to ‘savor,’ ” I whine quietly. “I don’t—”
He reaches for the condom, putting it in my palm and kneeling between my legs. “I know.”
I tear it open, feeling it briefly to orient myself. I’m suddenly nervous and know my hands are a little fumbly, my fingers unpracticed at this. “It’s been a while since I did this.”
He smiles but says nothing, holding his breath as he watches me cover the head, anchor the condom with one hand, and roll it all the way down with the other. There’s a good couple of inches of him left uncovered and I feel the skin there, marveling until he leans forward, hands planted beside my head.
I can tell he wants to say something, but I also get the sense that it’s nearly too much to articulate without sounding trite or overly sentimental. It’s probably why I’m not saying
When he leans in, kissing me softly, he asks, “You want me like this?”
I assume he means on top of me again. “Yeah.”

What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas.
But what didn't happen in Vegas seems to follow them everywhere.
Lola and Oliver like to congratulate themselves on having the good sense to not consummate their drunken Las Vegas wedding. If they’d doubled-down on that mistake, their Just Friends situation might not be half as great as it is now.
... Or so goes the official line.
In reality, Lola’s wanted Oliver since day one—and over time has only fallen harder for his sexy Aussie accent and easygoing ability to take her as she comes. More at home in her studio than in baring herself to people, Lola’s instinctive comfort around Oliver nearly seems too good to be true. So why ruin a good thing?
Even as geek girls fawn over him, Oliver can’t get his mind off what he didn’t do with Lola when he had the chance. He knows what he wants with her now ... and it’s far outside the friend zone. When Lola’s graphic novel starts getting national acclaim—and is then fast-tracked for a major motion picture—Oliver steps up to be there for her whenever she needs him. After all, she’s not the kind of girl who likes all that attention, but maybe she’s the kind who’ll eventually like him.
Sometimes seeing what’s right in front of us takes a great leap of faith. And sometimes a dark wild night in Vegas isn’t just the end of a day, but the beginning of a bright new life...

KATI'S MINI REVIEW:
I have been waiting for Oliver and Lola's book since first meeting them in SWEET FILTHY BOY. They were the ones who got married in Vegas as strangers, didn't have sex but talked all night about anything and everything, annulled their marriage, and finally becoming just friends while their other friends who did the whole Vegas thing went at it like rabbits but somehow ended up falling in love with each other while going at it like rabbits. With me so far? *takes a deep breath*
I love a good friends-to-lovers story and DARK WILD NIGHT does not disappoint. Yes, the tension was sometimes too much to bear to the point that you scream, 'Fuck each other already!' then your neighbor next door comes knocking asking if everything was okay. Fans of Christina Lauren will fall in love with Oliver and Lola all over again. This was one sexy, heartbreaking, tension-filled, laugh out loud read. Even though the story can be read as a standalone, you'll want to pick up the other books in the series after seeing the fun character interactions. Curse you, Christina Lauren.
