Series Spotlight and Interview with Jessie Evans + #Giveaway (US/International)

Meet Jessie:
Jessie Evans gave up a career as an international woman of mystery to write the sassy, Southern romances she always wanted to read.

She's married to the man of her dreams, and together they're raising a few adorable, mischievous children in a tree house in the boonies. She grew up in rural Arkansas, spending summers running wild, being chewed by chiggers, and now appreciates her home in a chigger-free part of the world even more.

When she's not writing, Jessie enjoys playing her dulcimer (badly), sewing the worlds ugliest quilts to give to her friends, going for bike rides with her house full of boys, and wandering the woods, glass of wine and camera both in hand, on the lookout for Bigfoot.

A southern girl, born and bred, Jessie loves writing Southern romances with just the right amount of sizzle, and hopes you'll enjoy her stories set in the fictional town of Summerville, Georgia.

Jamie and Kati: Share 5 fun facts about yourself.
Jessie Evans:
  1. I can stand on my head for ten minutes.
  2. I learned to sew when I was 35—one year later I have sewn an embarrassing number of dresses (seriously embarrassing).
  3. I grew up in Arkansas, but have lived in New York City, Los Angeles, London, and several places in between.
  4. I have five tattoos, but only two show on a regular basis.
  5. I’ve been known to rock out on my electric ukulele every now and then.

J&K: Tell us about your book.
JE: MELT WITH YOU is the first in the Fire and Icing series, and a second chance romance—one of my favorite kinds. Here’s the blurb:

Some fires never burn out…

After ten years as America’s sweetest celebrity chef, Naomi Whitehouse is enjoying life out of the spotlight, back in her hometown of Summerville, Georgia. She’s opening a pastry shop with her sister, housesitting for her snowbird parents, and reconnecting with her roots. Life is good until she runs into her high school sweetheart, Jake Hansen, a sexy firefighter who gives her a reception chilly enough to freeze a forest fire. If Naomi wants her homecoming to remain all cupcakes and sugar cookies, she’ll have to win Jake over. But how can she earn his forgiveness when he won’t even speak to her?

When the girl who broke his heart buys a month of dates at the firefighter’s Hunk-for-a-Month fundraiser auction, only honor keeps widower Jake Hansen from backing out of the commitment. He won’t let the firehouse down, even if it means enduring a torturous month with Naomi Whitehouse. And Jake knows being close to Naomi again will be torture. Even after all these years, she still gets to him…not that he intends to let her know it. He’ll be civil, honor his obligation, and with any luck Naomi will tire of playing small-town pastry chef and Jake will never see her again.

But as the month passes, Jake and Naomi discover some fires never burn out. Will the heat between them be enough to melt away the pain of past mistakes, or is their second chance doomed from the start?

J&K: Do you have any writing rituals?
JE: I’m a pretty boring writer, really. I’ve been doing this long enough that I tolerate no monkeyshine from myself. I assign a certain number of words to each day and I don’t allow myself to get up to any other mischief until I get them done. It’s not the most exciting routine, but it gets the job done and keeps me from becoming distracted by all the shiny things on the Internet.

J&K: If you could write an anthology with two other authors, who would they be and what would the anthology be about?
JE: I would love to write an anthology about second chance romance in a small town with Susan Mallery and Kristan Higgans—Susan because she’s such a consistent writer and was once very encouraging to me years ago when I was a baby romance writer, and Kristan because she always makes me laugh, and laughter is precious.

J&K: What do you have next in store for readers?
JE: I’m planning something truly diabolical… Instead of releasing book two in the Fire and Icing series on February 5th all on its lonesome, I’m planning to unleash Book 2 and 3 at the same time! It’s going to be a surprise to almost everyone (except y’all, of course).

J&K: Authors choice: Ask the readers a question
JE: Dear Readers: Friends to lovers, or enemies to lovers? Which do you prefer and why…discuss…

Too hot to handle…

Faith Miller has faith in two things—her surrogate firehouse family, and her own two hands—and she needs a man in her life like a fish needs a bicycle. Growing up watching her mom get used and discarded by one deadbeat boyfriend after another has left Faith jaded, and determined not to fall into the same trap. But when Mick Whitehouse moves back to Summerville, Faith’s happy, single life is turned upside down. The hunky carpenter is a far cry from the little boy she used to wrestle with on the playground in elementary school. Mick’s all grown up, tempting as sugar coated sin, and determined to seduce Faith into forgetting all her rules.

One kiss under the mistletoe and Mick Whitehouse knows that he wants Faith Miller. Bad. After years of lukewarm relationships with the wrong kind of girls, Mick is powerfully drawn to Summerville’s only female firefighter, and determined not to let her push him away. Beneath Faith’s tough exterior is a heart of gold, and the chemistry between them is four-alarm hot. But just as he finally convinces Summerville’s most confirmed bachelorette to take a chance on love, an old girlfriend waltzes into town and drops a bombshell in Mick’s lap.

As Faith and Mick come to terms with the shocking news, Faith must choose: let fear of repeating her mother’s mistakes send her running, or have faith in the man she’s come to love?

Where there’s smoke, there’s fire…

Thou shalt not lie, cheat, steal, covet thy neighbor’s ass, or date thy sister’s ex-boyfriend—simple commandments Maddie Whitehouse has never had any trouble keeping. But when s’mores and whiskey shots lead to Maddie and Jamison Hansen skinny-dipping under a full moon at a singles’ camping retreat, Maddie realizes she has some serious repenting to do. Jamison may not be “technically” her sister’s ex, but he’s close enough. Besides, after the way things ended with her ex-husband, Maddie knows better than to get involved with another bad boy.

Jamison Whitehouse is falling—hard and fast. Maddie Whitehouse is as sweet as the pastries she bakes, as unpredictable as Georgia weather in the spring, and lights a fire inside him he doesn’t want to put out. And sneaking around to avoid their prying families only makes the chemistry between them that much hotter Maddie is everything Jamison never knew he wanted, and it isn’t long before the sparks between them kindle more serious feelings.

But small towns are dangerous places for big secrets—a lesson Maddie and Jamison learn the hard way. Will the new couple be condemned by a jury of their peers, or live happily ever after? Sometimes forever doesn’t come easy…
