Oh land sakes! I just about DIED reading this novella. How have I not read an Elizabeth Essex book before?! The Scandal Before Christmas is a fast paced, laugh out loud, great read for the holidays sprinkled with nautical terms that you might miss if you're not looking for them. Heck, it's a great read any time of year if you feel like putting a little holiday magic in a not so awesome day. I absolutely enjoyed the all too short relationship between Ian and Ann. It may be a bit unconventional but it worked. Three days to fall in love? Only in a romance novel.

Ladies, break out those fans and get ready to whisper about Lieutenant Ian Worth's totally scandalous methods of procuring a wife!

It's been rumored that the esteemed Viscount of Rainesford's eldest son has met an unfortunate riding accident due to his father's taunting challenge and said eldest son's need to please VoR. Looks like someone may not inherit anything! The VoR is desperate enough to turn to his spare, IW, to carry on the family name.

Alas! IW lied to his father about marrying to save face so now he must somehow convince a gently bred young lady to have and to hold and all that good matrimonial gibberish we know holds no merit whatsover. And lo and behold, an angel must have been smiling on IW this holiday season for an old friend has a daughter to spare, er, marry off that meets his criteria.

Can a certain Miss Anne Lesley help him change his heart this Christmas or will VoR ruin their chance at happiness? Can IW show AL that she's not just a plain and unassuming kind of girl? Can he find the passionate woman beneath all the drab brown clothing? With a too perfect, drool worthy face like that, perhaps. Add a little charm, a dash of a devilish smile and if AL doesn't swoon, *points to self* this girl will!

Until next time,
XOXO Romance Girl
