December Joyathon 2013: Cari Quinn's 12 Romance Heroes of Christmas + #Giveaway (US/International)

Cari Quinn writes sexy books with alpha heroes and headstrong heroines. Today she joins us with some mouthwatering eye candy and two prizes for two lucky readers. Tis the season!

Meet Cari:
USA Today bestselling author Cari Quinn wrote her first story—a bible parable—in 2nd grade, much to the delight of the nuns at her Catholic school. Once she saw the warm reception that first tale garnered, she was hooked. Now she gets to pen sexy romances for a living and routinely counts her lucky stars. When she’s not scribbling furiously, she can usually be found watching men’s college basketball, playing her music way too loud or causing trouble. Sometimes simultaneously.

Cari's 12 Romance Heroes

Hi everyone! I’m so excited to be here to share my dream calendar of my favorite men of 2014! I don’t always like the same guys as everyone else and tend to find being funny even more hot than having great abs (though, hey, those work for me too!) It’s an eclectic list and I hope you enjoy it. Happy holidays!

Mr. January
Back before I was a writer, I had a whole schedule of books I’d reread each year, and most of them were Nora Roberts’ books. One of my absolute favorites of hers is HEAVEN AND EARTH, the 2nd book in her Three Sisters Island trilogy. I always read these at the beginning of the year because they’re set in fall/winter/spring. Mac, the spook hunter geek hero, always grabs me around the throat. There’s nothing sexier than brains!

Mr. February
I’m not always one of those writers that picks an actor/actress to represent their characters, but sometimes they’re just too perfect for them and help you develop their character. Jessie Pavelka, trainer and all-around sex god, is an excellent fit for Tray “Fox” Knox, the hero of my upcoming novel SHADOWBOXER. Tray’s an MMA fighter and has a similar look to Jessie. Yum, right?

Mr. March
Jared Leto is delicious. I’ve been a fan of his since My So-Called Life days (a show I still rewatch every couple of years and STILL wish they hadn’t cancelled so soon) and his music is every bit as thoughtful as he seems to be as a person. And the eyes. Swoon.

Mr. April
I fell for Timothy Olyphant back when he was a killer in the Scream movies and I’ve loved him ever since. He’s just a little bit off-center, which always appeals to me. Oh, and want to see the best movie kiss ever? Check out his kiss with Jennifer Garner in Catch and Release. Worth the price of admission all by itself.

Mr. May
I’m including two more hero inspirations from my books because I fell for these particular guys after I started searching for character inspiration. Mr. May is the always insolent Alex Pettyfer. Alex is the inspiration for my rock star Nick in the Lost in Oblivion series I’m writing with Taryn Elliott. Both Nick and Alex have big time attitude that shows all over their face. Sometimes I’m a sucker for a snarky bad boy. Just can’t help it.

Mr. June
I take my comedians seriously. If you can make me laugh, I’ll probably follow you to the ends of the earth. Between his song with Justin Timberlake “Dick In A Box” and his comedic work with the group The Lonely Island, Andy Samberg is hilarious. And he’s also geeky hot, something I love.

Mr. July
Another comedian for the win. Many may not see Vince Vaughn as traditionally handsome, but he works for me. Another plus? He’s super tall. Yes, please.

Mr. August
And to round out my comedian trifecta, Kevin James. I still laugh at reruns of King of Queens and he just seems like an all-around nice guy. One of these days I’m going to write a romance novel with a larger hero to see if anyone else likes “real” guys as much as I do.

Mr. September
Along with having eclectic taste in books and movies, I also like a wide range of music from country to classical to rap. Nas is one of my favorite rappers. I love his work and he’s ridiculously gorgeous to boot.

Mr. October
Chris Pine in leather pants…enough said. Though I do appreciate him in a suit, as well.

Mr. November
I’m a politics buff, especially during Presidential election years. Jon Stewart isn’t only sexy and smart, he’s funny as hell. (I know, it’s a recurring theme with me.) Plus he loves animals and he’s a silver fox. Win.

Mr. December
For December, I had to go with the inspiration for Simon in my Lost in Oblivion rock star series with Taryn Elliott. Ian Somerhalder has eyes that you’ll never forget, and he’s also a huge animal activist. Where’d my panties go?

Genre: Contemporary Romance
Series: Deuces Wild #1
Length: 193 pages
Publisher: Samhain Publishing, Ltd. (January 14, 2014)

She’s the one woman who can get his ball back in play…

For a while, MLB pitcher Chase “Deuce” Dixon used his bad-boy reputation as a smoke screen to cover up his elbow injury. But plummeting pitching stats don’t lie, so now he’s a free agent, spending the off-season in surgeons’ offices, and considering a post-baseball career in security.

His first night moonlighting as a nightclub bouncer, he’s surprised that the singer on stage is his little sister’s pure, sweet, spitfire of a best friend. And some drunk guy is getting way too personal.

Summer Maitland doesn’t need Chase strong-arming one of the few fans she’s managed to accumulate during the career she keeps secret from her family. And despite her body’s shimmering reaction to his touch, she certainly doesn’t need a self-appointed bodyguard following her around.

Chase has other ideas. If anyone’s going to lay a hand on Summer, it’s going to be him. Now if only he could keep his tongue out of her mouth long enough to keep her safe. And his hands to himself before he scares her off.

Product Warnings: Contains an ace hurler moonlighting as a bouncer moonlighting as a bodyguard, and an angel-voiced chanteuse who’s up for anything he can throw at her—in and out of the bedroom. This one could make you rethink the definition of fastball.
