This year, we read quite a few books and we came up with our Top 10 Books of 2013. These books were ones we reviewed or just read for fun or because someone else recommended them. We've spanned all the genres including M/M. We hope you find some reads on here to add to your ever growing TBR pile or maybe you've read some of the same books this past year.
Jamie's List:So last year when I was scrambling to remember the great books I had read I promised myself that I was going to be super organized and track every book I read in 2013. That lasted maybe like a month. So, here I am, in the last week of 2013, trying to remember all the great books I read. I read a lot this year, some were pretty bad, some were ok, and some were great. I read a lot of new to me authors and got was introduced to some new series. These are the ones that stuck with me. Also, not all of them were written in 2013, though most were.
My Top 10 Books of 2013 (maybe more than 10 because we all know I can never pick just 10) in no particular order:
1. Beyond Control by Kit Rocha
Ok, so I’m a little behind on the Beyond series train but damn! Thank you Twitter friends for telling me to start this series. I’m in love and will be reading the rest in the series.
2. Asking for Trouble by Tessa Bailey
Another twitter recommendation. I couldn’t put it down. Two people who can’t stand each other and couldn’t be more different that have really hot and dirty sex. Winner.
3. Beautiful Bastards series by Christina Lauren
Yep, I said series. I can’t help it. Loved all the books and devoured them. But if I have to pick a favorite, then it’s Beautiful Player. I love Will, though Max (Beautiful Stranger) is a close second.
4. The Mistress by Tiffany Reisz
The much anticipated final book in the Original Sinners series. I was so sad to see this end but it was a great way to end it. Now, I will await patiently for The Saint.
5. Own The Wind by Kristen Ashley
Crack. Couldn’t put it down. Not to mention a badass biker who loves hard. LOVE!
6. Foreplay by Sophie Jordan
One of the best New Adult I’ve read this year. Well written and engaging that kept me reading way past my bedtime.
REAL by Katy Evans
Remy. Oh, Remy. That is all.
Caught Up In You by Roni Loren
Wyatt Austin. Enough said. Ok, I’ll say more. He’s dirty, and smart, and sexy, and wears glasses. Kelsey is pretty awesome too. But I love Roni Loren’s writing.
9. Undeclared by Jen Frederick
A Marine, MMA fighter and the girl who wrote him for four years will he was away fighting. A great debut, I look forward to more.
10. Hearts in Darkness by Laura Kaye
I literally read this the other night and had to add it to my list. Laura Kaye is a new to me author and I really enjoyed her.
11. If You Stay by Courtney Cole
Dirty, sexy, and a whole lot of angst.
12. Finding Cinderella by Colleen Hoover
If you’ve read Hopeless or Losing Hope then you’ll remember Six and Daniel. This is a novella that will make you laugh, cry and fall in love.
The Story Guy by Mary Ann Rivers
She’s Got Dibs by A.J. Nuest
Neanderthal Seeks Human by Penny Reid
So, looking back on 2013: I fell hard for New Adult and spiced up my reading with some erotic romances. Who knows what 2014 will bring but I’m ready.
Kati's List:This year has been a fantastic year of releases and it took me DAYZ—yes, days with a Z—to try to come up with a list. These are the ten and a few honorable mentions that made my re-read for a reading funk kind of day.
My Top 10 Books of 2013 in no particular order:
1. Reaver by Larissa Ione
I literally read this three days ago (cutting it short for 2013, lol) and just about ugly cried all over myself. I've been waiting for Reaver's story since the first Lords of Deliverance book.
2. Beautiful Bastards series by Christina Lauren
I was a bit tardy for this Bastard party but once I started reading, I couldn't put them down. I devoured one right after the other.
This is the final book in the Original Sinners series and it took me for a ride. I'm pretty sure there's still texting evidence of me asking Jenn and Jamie something about the ending because I still couldn't believe it.
4. Never Desire A Duke by Lily Dalton
For some reason, historical romance and I cooled things off a bit this year but the moment Lily Dalton's book arrived on my Kindle, I fell in love.
If You Give A Rake A Ruby by Shana Galen
I love Shana Galen's books and this second installment in the Jewels of the Ton series was one of my favorite historicals this year.
Game For Marriage by Karen Erickson
I will never look at a twenty-two ounce Pepsi bottle the same way ever again. Seriously.
Not Until You serial by Roni Loren
Y'all don't understand how long I waited this out. Each week, I kept telling myself I wouldn't read until all parts had been released. I did it! And it was totally worth the wait.
OMFG. That is all.
9. Romancing Lady Stone by Delilah Marvelle.
I had been waiting for this novel-la (shorter than a full book, longer than a novella) after Delilah teased that a Russian would be crashing the School of Gallantry. It's a fun May-December romance.
10. Love Irresistibly by Julie James
I love me some Julie James and she delivered with book four of the FBI/US Attorney series.
The Thrill of It by Lauren Blakely
Tousle Me by Lucy V. Morgan
Mine Under the Mistletoe by Kat Latham
In His Command by Rie Warren
Looking back on this list, I think I was pretty well-rounded in my reading choices. I hit every genre, even M/M.
Lisa's List:So many great reads this year, and I’m sure I’m forgetting lots! In making this lists, I did discover that I really like series! So here is some of my faves from the past year in no particular order.
