Welcome to Need to Know—Because a Woman Can’t Be Too Informed
Dating in D.C. is like navigating an apocalyptic wasteland populated by men in expensive suits with zero mating potential. Need to Know provides all the information a savvy single woman like you needs to avoid dating disasters.
By night, Jordan McAdam is the proprietor of a popular website that rates D.C.’s hottest bachelors—everything from how quick they are email you back to their skills in the sack. She’s been burned once too often to accept any man at face value. By day, her job as an office temp puts her in the perfect position to do a little fact checking on her rich and powerful subjects. When her latest assignment brings her face to face with the sexy but mysterious Forest Redder, Jordan decides to do a little “hands on” research of her own. To Jordan, he seems like the perfect man – but she knows there is no such thing. Moreover, there’s a big problem: Forest knows Jordan’s the woman behind the scandalous site—and Jordan knows he knows. Will he expose her secret—or find his own posted on Need to Know?

Confession: I requested a review copy of Everything You Need To Know because of the guy on the cover. I'm not obsessed or anything but I find Steve Boyd quite pleasing to the eye. Anywho...
Jordan McAdam has dated a wide range of men, some not worth a second date much less a third. Some have stalker tendencies written all over them. What better solution than Need To Know, a website for the DC area's women to rate and comment on the power elite? It's strictly anonymous until she meets one gorgeous, confident and totally intense Forest Redder.
Forest Redder wants nothing to do with the company of the man who Jordan is a temp for. Financially, Ryan Peterson has run his father's company to the ground and much to Jordan's chagrin and total annoyance, talks about himself in third person. Yes, from the moment Ryan showed up—page one to be exact—he was the Ultimate Pretentious Douchebag.
At their first meeting, Jordan wants to climb one, Forest Redder. But has vowed months before that no more DC Power Elite. None of that. Of course, Forest is utterly irresistible in perfectly cut suits, square jaw and model worthy face. And his body, oh goodness. What woman could resist that?
The only thing that has Jordan thinking second thoughts about their growing relationship is she's the owner of the anonymous site that Ryan thinks cost him his partnership with Forest's company. Ryan has threatened to sue both Forest and the Need To Know site so Forest takes quite the interest in it.
This is my first HelenKay Dimon book and it definitely won't be my last. I enjoyed the physical and emotional journey Jordan and Forest took. The smoldering the glances, the omigoodness hormonal reactions and their day-to-day banter made the story. I will say that Jordan's assistant, Elle, sort of stole the book. She definitely had some of the best lines.
"Oh, there's the one who got home and kicked off his shoes and tried to wear yours."
"How about the guy I dated who wore pantyhose?"
""Ah, the critical lack of penetration." Elle made a face. "He knew how, right?"
If you're looking for a quick, hot read, this book is for you. Heck, I'll be reading the other Cosmo Red Hot Reads if they're as fast, fun and sexy as Everything You Need To Know. I also liked the different profiles on the men featured on the Need To Know site which were at the beginning of each chapter. The only thing I found inconsistent in this—mind you, it's a galley—was when Jordan has a mini freakout as to how Forest knew her last name after she crashed a wedding to find some dirt on a guy attending. Forest already knew her name because Ryan Peterson had said her last name in the first chapter during their meeting.
"Well, congratulations. He tops the guy I dated who stole my underwear."
"Since that guy took your bikini bottoms only and a pair at a time, then stored them in a baggie in his freezer, no you still win the Creepy Dude prize."
