Interview with Mimi Jean Pamfiloff + Giveaway (ebook)

Meet Mimi:
Before taking up a permanent residence in the San Francisco Bay Area, Mimi spent time living near NYC (became a shopaholic), in Mexico City (developed a taste for very spicy food), and Arizona (now hates jumping chollas, but pines for sherbet sunsets). Her love of pre-Hispanic culture, big cities, and romance inspires her to write when she’s not busy with kids, hubby, work, and life…or getting sucked into a juicy novel.

She hopes that someday leather pants for men will make a big comeback and that her writing might make you laugh when you need it most.

Jamie and Kati: Hi Mimi! Welcome to Romancing Rakes For The Love of Romance!!

J&K: Who is Mimi Jean Pamfiloff? author, international woman mystery, fan of the leather pants on men movement :)
Mimi Jean Pamfiloff: In some ways, I feel a little like Clark Kent. During the day, I am an unassuming businesswoman, thinking about deadlines, budgets, contracts, and managing people. In the evening, I am mom, trying to make sure kids are fed, bathed, hugged, and homework gets done. (That woman really appreciates her husband who helps with everything.) In the early morning, when the world is quiet and asleep, I am a romance writer, which means I get to be a god, a vampire, a young woman who’s faced with an impossible situation!

No, I never get to wear Superman’s cape, but I do get to write about people with superpowers. I also never get to be super thin or in super great shape because my plate is full! (Once again, that woman is really grateful for her hubby who doesn’t give a crapadoodle and loves her anyway.)

J&K: Tell us a little bit about VAMPIRES NEED NOT...APPLY [no copying blurb :)]
MJP: This is the story of a vampire. He’s hot. He’s lonely. He drinks blood….just kidding! It’s REALLY hard to describe any of my books (which is probably why I started out Indie! Agents and publishers were like…”What? Your story is about Mayan gods and vampires? And…what?)

But like all of my books, I really try to keep the readers guessing and engaged! This book happens to be about a Spanish playboy, dedicated to his work as a physicist. We don’t know why, but he’s desperate to find a way to prove that alternate dimensions exist.

Everything goes sideways (he’s hurt very badly), and his life becomes entwined with a quirky, unpopular goddess whose touch is deadly.

Makes for a very, very complex and fun relationship. I won’t giveaway the fun, but the two end up having to figure out their lives together while trying to save the world, and while they are deciding if they hate or like each other. FUN!

J&K: What drew you to writing paranormal romances?
MJP: Oh, such a big story. So little time. In a nut shell, I think the creativity! Anything is possible. There are no limits. There are no rules. You simply have to dare to dream it up! (And help two crazy “people” find love.) Does it get any better than that? Really? No way!

J&K: Which 2 authors would you write an anthology with if given the chance?
MJP: Interesting question, but I don’t think I would ever do an anthology. Reality—mine, yours, theirs—is not what I love to write about. So I wouldn’t. I’m much more likely to write a haiku! In which case, I suppose I’d pick Anne Rice and Gabriel Garcia Marquez.

J&K:  If Hollywood optioned your book into a movie, who would play the lead characters?
MJP: I love this question! So do my readers! Right, ladies?

Cimil would be me!! If not me, then I’d go with Johnny Depp in a wig, LOL. (Check out my Goodreads group for the pic! Lol)
Votan- Jason Momoa. Sighhhh….
Kinich- Chris Hemsworth
Antonio Acero- The guy on the cover of Vampires Need Not Apply. He’s perfect!

MJP: Thank you for inviting me!
J&K: Thanks Mimi for stopping by!
