Anne lives in Maryland with her husband and three children, who try valiantly not to roll their eyes whenever she quotes Jane Austen. Her weaknesses are reality TV, cute-but-impractical shoes, and coffee. Lots and lots of coffee.

Excerpt: It Stings So Sweet by Stephanie Draven + Giveaway (US/CA)

Meet Stephanie:
Stephanie Draven is currently a denizen of Baltimore, that city of ravens and purple night skies. She lives there with her favorite nocturnal creatures–three scheming cats and a deliciously wicked husband. And when she is not busy with dark domestic rituals, she writes her books.
Stephanie has always been a storyteller. In elementary school, she channeled Scheherazade, weaving a series of stories to charm children into sitting with her each day at the lunch table. When she was a little older, Stephanie scared all the girls at her sleepovers with ghost stories.

She should have known she was born to hold an audience in her thrall, but Stephanie resisted her writerly urges and graduated from college with a B.A. in Government. Then she went to Law School, where she learned how to convincingly tell the tallest tales of all!

A longtime lover of ancient lore, Stephanie enjoys re-imagining myths for the modern age. She doesn’t believe that true love is ever simple or without struggle so her work tends to explore the sacred within the profane, the light under the loss and the virtue hidden in vice. She counts it amongst her greatest pleasures when, from her books, her readers learn something new about the world or about themselves.

Jamie's Juicy Tidbits: Help Us Get Out of Our Reading Rut + Giveaway (International)

It is a sad day here at Romancing Rakes For The Love Of Romance. You see we are both in reading ruts. We just can’t seem to get into any books. And we’ve tried. Oh, have we tried. We’ve switched from historicals to contemporaries, paranormal to romantic suspense. I’ve tried switching to novellas to see if I just needed something quick to read. Nothing has worked! I think I’m broke.

This happens every once and a while, usually once I finish a book that has completely blown me away. This last reading rut has been because I was sick. And you know you’re sick when even reading can’t make you feel better.

So here I am, stuck in a rut. Kati can’t help me because she’s in a rut too. So what are two girls supposed to do? Ask for help.

Jamie's Juicy Tidbits: Re-reads & Anticipated Releases

Everyone knows that I love series. I’m a self-proclaimed series whore. The only downside to this is the wait time between books. Sometimes you get lucky and you get a trilogy in three months or sometimes you need to wait a year before the next one comes out.

Unfortunately for me, many of the books I’m waiting for will require my patience. But the good thing is that with some my wait is almost over. (Is it March yet?) I thought I’d share some of my most anticipated releases for this year.

Blog Tour Guest Post: Top 10 Reasons Everyone Loves A Millionaire by Linda Morris + Giveaway (ebook)

Linda Morris is a multipublished writer of contemporary and historical romance. She writes stories with heart and heat. Her latest book, By Hook or By Crook, will be coming in spring of 2013 from the Wild Rose Press.

When she’s not writing, working, or mommying, she’s doing yoga, reading, working in her flower garden, or baking delicious things she probably shouldn’t eat. She believes that there are two kinds of people: pie people and cake people, and she is definitely one of the former. Her years of Cubs fandom prove she has a soft spot for a lost cause. A beat-up old copy of Kathleen Woodiwiss’s Ashes in the Wind that her mom bought for her at a garage sale years ago was her gateway drug into the world of romance novels. Her all-time favorite romance writers include Laura Kinsale, Patricia Gaffney, Elizabeth Delancey, and Marjorie Ferrell. Current favorites include Julie Anne Long, Erin McCarthy, and Shannon McKenna.

Studio Smexy Saturdays: 2012 Recap + Giveaway (US/CA)

What a crazy year!!

I don't do many end of year posts, I haven't done one in a couple years I think. But I wanted to do one here. The highlights.

This isn't a best of, but certainly highlights of the last year and my little project that has exceeded my wildest dreams.

Blog Tour Spotlight: Rumor Series by Delilah Marvelle + Giveaway (US)

Do we even need to introduce this lovely lady? She's become a repeat offender on the blog and we wouldn't have it any other way. Delilah Marvelle is one of the sweetest and most accessible authors we've ever met. She's funny, looks like she's not a day over 28 and her books are very sexy. She's currently on tour for the last book in the Rumors Series, FOREVER A LORD.

Meet Delilah:
Delilah Marvelle spent her youth studying various languages, reading voraciously and playing the pianoforte. She confesses that here ends the extent of her gentle breeding. She was a naughty child who was forever torturing her parents with countless adventures that they did not deem respectable. Confined to her room on many occasions due to these misadventures, she discovered the quill and its amazing power. Soon, to the dismay of her parents, she rather enjoyed being confined to her room and finished writing her first historical romance (which was a heart-stopping 800 pages long…) at the age of fourteen. She is a two time Golden Heart finalist and the winner of The Reviewer's Choice Award for Best Sensual HIstorical Romance of the Year. You can visit her at her website at www.DelilahMarvelle.com or her blog, which explores the naughtier side of history, at www.DelilahMarvelle.blogspot.com.

Jamie's Juicy Tidbits: Comfort Reads

This past week has been a rough one for me. I won't rehash everything but I've been sick, and needless to say I've been miserable. And I've been so miserable that I haven't even read any books. Yeah, you read that right.

Review Tour + Spotlight: Fall Into You by Roni Loren + Giveaway (US/CA)

We love Roni Loren and her Loving on the Edge novels. They're sexy, sweet, dark and totally oh-em-gee I need the next one, stat! Roni's latest release, FALL INTO YOU, is the story of Grant Waters, owner of all-exclusive BDSM club, The Ranch, and sports reporter with a dented self esteem, Charli Beaumonde. These two are an explosive combination that will have you torn between laughing at their verbal exchanges and clutching your book during the physical interaction. And we mean physical. Hel-lo.

Roni is currently on tour for Grant's book and she's got a fun prize so be sure to follow the tour.

Meet Roni:
Roni wrote her first romance novel at age fifteen when she discovered writing about boys was way easier than actually talking to them. Since then, her flirting skills haven’t improved, but she likes to think her storytelling ability has. She is the National Bestselling Author of The Loving on the Edge series from Berkley Heat. Happy Birthday to Me + Giveaway (International)

Woot! Today is my birthday and I know y'all should be sending me presents but I'm all about the Sharing is Caring mantra plus I have books overflowing the shelves so yeahhh. To celebrate my journey into officially being a twenty-something (over 25?), I am giving away a mystery box of romance books. Yes, I am giving a present to you on my birthday. I'm weird like that.

Erotic Review: Fall Into You by Roni Loren

FALL INTO YOU by Roni Loren
Series: Loving on the Edge #3
Format: Paperback
Genre: Erotic Contemporary
Length: 336 pages
Publisher: Berkley (December 31, 2012)

He’ll do anything for you. But you’d better say please.

When tomboy sports reporter Charli Beaumonde loses a dream TV job because she’s not girly enough for primetime, she’s determined to land a big scoop and prove her boss made a mistake. But when she gets too close to a football scandal and finds her life threatened, Charli accepts an offer from family friend Grant Waters to hide out at his place—even if Grant predicts nothing but trouble from his buddy’s hard-headed, uncompromising, irrepressible, younger sister. There’s one more problem…

Grant’s “place” is The Ranch, a BDSM resort in Texas, and he’s used to being in charge —even if that means trying to keep Charli in line. But much to Grant’s surprise, she’s intrigued—even envious—of his trainees. They’re the epitome of what she’s never been: sexy, beguiling, and totally irresistible to a man. Still, Grant doesn’t believe for a minute that the sharp-tongued Charli has it in her to be anyone’s submissive. But Charli’s already on her knees vying for the chance to prove that even the Master can be wrong sometimes.

Blog Tour Guest Post: Historical vs. Contemporary by Bronwen Evans + Giveaway (International)

Bronwen Evans is taking her writing to a new direction: contemporary. You know her as the author of the Wicked Wagers novellas as well as her debut series, Invitation to Romance (Invitation to Ruin and Invitation to Scandal). Today, she is sharing with us a few differences between the genres when it comes to writing them. And of course, a little excerpt from The Reluctant Wife.

Meet Bronwen:

New Zealander Bronwen Evans grew up loving books. She’s always indulged her love for story-telling, and is constantly gobbling up movies, books and theatre. Her head is filled with characters and stories, particularly lovers in angst. Is it any wonder she’s a proud romance writer?

She writes both historical and contemporary sexy romances for the modern woman who likes intelligent, spirited heroines, and compassionate alpha heroes. Her debut Regency romance, Invitation to Ruin won the RomCon 2012 Readers Crown Best Historical and was an RT Reviewers’ Choice Nominee Best First Historical 2011. To Dare the Duke of Dangerfield was a FINALIST in the Kindle Book Review Indie Romance Book of the Year 2012. Her first Entangled Publishing Indulgence release is The Reluctant Bride.

Jamie's Juicy Tidbits: Jamie vs. Wild

The reason that my Juicy Tidbits started was because I tend to buy those free kindle reads and then devour them, no matter how ridiculous they may be. But the best part… finding some really great stories and new authors. Then I wanted to share these books with people, and other great books I’ve come across so here we are.

Now, as you may know, I went on a cruise to Alaska this past summer and it was amazing. On the trip we went to a lumberjack show and I was excited because who doesn’t love lumberjacks. Those beards, yum. Anyway, I was a bit disappointed with the lumberjacks and their lack of beards and yummy muscles. Also, I didn’t see any wildlife in Alaska. No bears or moose. We did see bald eagles but I’m scared of birds so that wasn’t fun for me.
