Jamie and Kati's Best of 2012

2012 has been quite a year for us. We mashed our blogs together in February and haven't looked back since then. We hosted fabulous authors, celebrated our first blogoversary, co-hosted some events with Dani of Ramblings from This Chick as well as Aislynn from Stitch-Read-Cook, introduced you to Studio Smexy Saturdays and of course, read some noteworthy books thanks to recommendations from friends, Netgalley, authors and publishers. We also went back to RomCon and finally got to go inside Studio Smexy. Plus, Delilah Marvelle let us exclusively reveal the covers for the rest of her School of Gallantry books. We introduced two features: XOXO, Romance Girl (which will make a comeback) and Jamie's Juicy Tidbits. And, we recently celebrated the second year of our December Joyathon. Oh, can't forget the formation of Rock*it Reads. The ladies stopped by and shared a little bit about themselves, their books and the mission of Rock*it Reads. Last but not least, we hosted a bunch of blog tours.

Wow! We definitely had quite the year. And the books! Oh, the books. After much thought, we finally decided on our Top 10 Books of 2012. It was hard and we had a few honorable mentions and if you check out our Review page, you'll find more 4 and 5 heart rated reads :)

Vivienne Westlake was first introduced to us in November of last year with her steamy novella, LADY NORTHAM'S WICKED SURRENDER. Boy, that was one super steamy read. Vivienne Westlake has been reading and writing romance since the age of fifteen. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in English Literature and when she’s not plotting stories about sexy heroes and sassy heroines, she’s buying a book on British history, watching the latest teen vampire show, doing an art project or singing karaoke with friends. December Joyathon: Interview with Nicole Flockton + Giveaway (International)

WELCOME BACK TO THE BLOG NICOLE!!!

Meet Nicole:
On her very first school report her teacher said ‘Nicole likes to tell her own stories’.

It wasn’t until after the birth of her daughter and after having fun on the community board of eharlequin.com that she finally decided to take the plunge and write a book.

Nicole joined the fabulous Romance Writers of Australia and evenutally linked up with a great group of girls and formed “WINKGirls”

The stories she writes are contemporary romances with either a medical setting or in the boardrooms of high powered business. Nicole enjoys taking two characters and creating unique situations for them.

Apart from writing Nicole is busy looking after her very own hero – her wonderfully supportive husband, and her two fabulous kids. She also enjoys watching sports and, of course, reading.

December Joyathon: Interview with Marquita Valentine + Giveaway (International)

Marquita Valentine surprised and delighted readers with her debut book, TWICE TEMPTED. We're so glad she could celebrate our December Joyathon with us this year.

WELCOME BACK TO THE BLOG MARQUITA!!!

Meet Marquita:
Marquita Valentine writes small town romances that are anything but small. Lisa Kleypas, Carly Phillips and Rachel Gibson are among her favorite contemporary authors. Marquita met her husband aka Hot Builder at Sonic when they were in high school. She suggests this location to all of her single friends in search of a good man -- and if that doesn't work, they can console themselves with cheesy tater tots. She lives in North Carolina in a very, very small town with Hot Builder and their two children.

December Joyathon: Interview with Beth Yarnall + Giveaway (International)

We first met Beth Yarnall via the Twitterverse sharing in our love for all things man candy. When she published her debut book, we were more than happy to read it and it surprised us (in a good way). She shared with us her road to publishing and we're so glad she did.

WELCOME BACK TO THE BLOG BETH!!!

Meet Beth:
Beth Yarnall writes suspense, mysteries and the occasional hilarious blog post. A storyteller since her playground days, Beth remembers her friends asking her to make up stories of how the person `died' in the slumber party game Light as a Feather, Stiff as a Board, so it's little wonder she prefers writing stories in which people meet unfortunate ends. In middle school she discovered romance novels, which inspired her to write a spoof of soap operas for the school's newspaper. She hasn't stopped writing since.

For a number of years, Beth made her living as a hairstylist and makeup artist and co-owned a salon with her very best friend. Somehow hairstylists and salons always seem to find their way into her stories. Beth lives in Southern California with her husband, two sons, and their rescue dog where she is hard at work on her next novel. For more information about Beth and her novels please visit her website-www.bethyarnall.com.

December Joyathon: Interview with Roni Loren + Giveaway (US/CA)

Roni Loren captivated us with her super sexy Loving on the Edge series last year with the debut of CRASH INTO YOU. Since then, she's been luring us back with the promise of love, laughter, angst and holy hotness in and out of the bedroom. We can't wait to get our hands on Master Grant's book in January.

WELCOME BACK TO THE BLOG RONI!!!

Meet Roni:
Roni wrote her first romance novel at age fifteen when she discovered writing about boys was way easier than actually talking to them. Since then, her flirting skills haven’t improved, but she likes to think her storytelling ability has. She is the National Bestselling Author of The Loving on the Edge series from Berkley Heat. December Joyathon: Interview with Elise Rome + Giveaway (ebook)

The last time Elise Rome visited the blog, she was writing under the name Ashley March. She is currently writing as her new name and we're waiting for books under the Elise Rome name. Hurry Ash! She's such a super sweet lady who has super cute little girls, a husband who writes upper middle grade novels and shares our love for Michael Bublé.

WELCOME BACK TO THE BLOG ELISE!!!

Meet Elise:
Elise Rome has never forgiven Margaret Mitchell for making her fall in love with Scarlett and Rhett in Gone with the Wind and then not giving them a happy ending. She likes to think that she makes up for this injustice with each romance novel she writes. When she isn't telling stories about sexy, headstrong heroes and intelligent, independent heroines, Elise stays busy chasing after her two young daughters, semi-attempting to do housework, and hiking in the beautiful foothills of Colorado.

December Joyathon: Interview with Tiffany Reisz + Giveaway (US/CA)

Do we even have to introduce Tiffany Reisz? If you follow us on Twitter, you know we're big fans of Tiffany and all her Original Sinners. You may see tweets about Søren or Kingsley. Maybe a guy in shitkickers and a kilt. Yup, they're all Tiffany's characters. We're super excited about the next book in the series but until then, we'll re-read the first three books and the infinite short stories on her blog.

WELCOME BACK TO THE BLOG TIFFANY!!!

Meet Tiffany:
Tiffany Reisz lives in Lexington, Kentucky with her boyfriend (a reformed book reviewer) and two cats (one good, one evil). She graduated with a B.A. in English from Centre College in Danville, Kentucky and is making both her parents and her professors proud by writing BDSM erotica under her real name. She has five piercings, one tattoo, and has been arrested twice.

When not under arrest, Tiffany enjoys Latin Dance, Latin Men, and Latin Verbs. She dropped out of a conservative southern seminary in order to pursue her dream of becoming a smut peddler. Johnny Depp’s aunt was her fourth grade teacher. Her first full-length novel THE SIREN was inspired by a desire to tie up actor Jason Isaacs (on paper). She hopes someday life will imitate art (in bed).

If she couldn’t write, she would die.

All I Want For Christmas Is A Duke Blog Tour: Spotlight on Delilah Marvelle and Máire Claremont + Giveaway (US)

We were introduced to Máire Claremont by Delilah Marvelle at last year's RomCon and have been fans since. We can't wait for Máire's debut (THE DARK LADY) and Delilah's road to self-publishing (SCHOOL OF GALLANTRY series) but until then, we're snuggling up under the covers with two very take charge Dukes that will keep us warm on cold winter nights. Yes, Delilah and Máire have an anthology out with Entangled Publishing (ALL I WANT FOR CHRISTMAS IS A DUKE) and are embarking on a tour.

WELCOME TO THE BLOG LADIES!!!

Meet Delilah:
Delilah Marvelle spent her youth studying various languages, reading voraciously and playing the pianoforte. She confesses that here ends the extent of her gentle breeding. She was a naughty child who was forever torturing her parents with countless adventures that they did not deem respectable. Confined to her room on many occasions due to these misadventures, she discovered the quill and its amazing power. Soon, to the dismay of her parents, she rather enjoyed being confined to her room. She is a two time Golden Heart finalist and winner of RT's Best Sensual Historical Romance of the Year. You can visit her at her website atwww.DelilahMarvelle.com or her blog, which explores the naughtier side of history, at www.DelilahMarvelle.blogspot.com.

Connect with Delilah: Author Site | Blog | Facebook | Twitter

Meet Máire:
2011 Golden Heart winner Máire Claremont first fell in love with Mr. Rochester, not Mr. Darcy. Drawn to his dark snark, she longed to find a tortured hero of her own… until she realized the ramifications of Mr. Rochester locking his frst wife up in his attic. Discovering the errors of her ways, Máire now looks for a real-life Darcy and creates deliciously dark heroes on the page. Oh, and she wants everyone to know her name is pronounced Moira. Her parents just had to give her an Irish Gaelic name.

Length: 209 pages
Publisher: Entangled Publishing (Scandalous) (December 5, 2012)

Merry Christmas, Mrs Robinson by Delilah Marvelle

Lady Jane left her father, the Earl of Chadwick, and the ton behind to experience life on the stage. After a disastrous marriage, the widow is living on the edge of poverty, determined to guard her heart, when a secret admirer from her past demands a second chance.

Shy and retiring Martin Nicholas Pierce, the Sixth Duke of Somerset, has carried a torch for Lady Jane since her youth, but he is five years her junior. When she married another man, he left for Europe, determined to put her out of his mind. After returning to find Lady Jane free, he vows to replace the memories of her cursed Twelfth Night with a new beginning.

The Twelve Days of Seduction by Máire Claremont

Alexander Hunt, Eighth Duke of Berresford, is aware his ward’s governess isn’t quite what she seems. Although Miss Flint is beautiful and intelligent, she misrepresented herself to gain employment, and he threatens to give her the sack mere days before Christmas.

Desperate to convince the sexy duke not to tear her from the little girl she’s grown to adore, Adriana challenges him to seduce her before the Twelve Days of Christmas have come to an end, although she fears it may cost her heart. Alexander accepts the challenge, unconcerned that he has as much to lose, if not more, than the delectable Miss Flint.
