December Joyathon: Interview with Tiffany Reisz + Giveaway (US/CA)

Do we even have to introduce Tiffany Reisz? If you follow us on Twitter, you know we're big fans of Tiffany and all her Original Sinners. You may see tweets about Søren or Kingsley. Maybe a guy in shitkickers and a kilt. Yup, they're all Tiffany's characters. We're super excited about the next book in the series but until then, we'll re-read the first three books and the infinite short stories on her blog.

Meet Tiffany:
Tiffany Reisz lives in Lexington, Kentucky with her boyfriend (a reformed book reviewer) and two cats (one good, one evil). She graduated with a B.A. in English from Centre College in Danville, Kentucky and is making both her parents and her professors proud by writing BDSM erotica under her real name. She has five piercings, one tattoo, and has been arrested twice.

When not under arrest, Tiffany enjoys Latin Dance, Latin Men, and Latin Verbs. She dropped out of a conservative southern seminary in order to pursue her dream of becoming a smut peddler. Johnny Depp’s aunt was her fourth grade teacher. Her first full-length novel THE SIREN was inspired by a desire to tie up actor Jason Isaacs (on paper). She hopes someday life will imitate art (in bed).

If she couldn’t write, she would die.

Jamie and Kati: Hi Tiffany! Welcome back to Romancing Rakes For The Love of Romance! Thanks for celebrating our 2nd Annual December Joyathon with us :)

J&K: Who is Tiffany Reisz during the holidays? (author, gift giver, last minute shopper, baker)
Tiffany Reisz: I’m a NUT around Christmas. This year I’ve purposely avoided the Christmas music radio station. I get so sappy and so weepy around Christmas it’s embarrassing. I’m finishing up book 4 in my Original Sinner series and it’s the most emotional of all the books so far. Since I know I’m already an emo-wreck, I’m trying to stave off a total emotional breakdown by keeping away from “I’ll Be Home for Christmas” on the radio. Otherwise you’d find me curled up in the fetal position at under the Christmas tree in the mall crying into a sock monkey.

I love the classic animated Christmas movies, all the stop-motion stuff especially Rudolf. It’s not Christmas until I’ve seen (and cried over) A Charlie Brown Christmas.J&K: What holiday movie is more likely to be playing in your house: Elf, A Christmas Story, or Diehard?
J&K: What’s an 8th Circle holiday party like? Do they have holiday parties?
TR: Most of my Sinners in my books are Christians. Søren, Nora, and Juliette are Catholic. Kingsley’s descended from the Huguenots. But more important than religious stuff, all my kinksters love a good party. Kingsley will use any excuse to throw a party. He’s a charitable soul too so he usually shakes down his guests to donate to one cause or another. I think he thinks if he’s nice in December he can be naughty the rest of the year. That’s my plan too.

J&K: What’s the one holiday book everyone should read?
TR: 4- My favorite Christmas book is The Littlest Angel by Charles Tazewell. It’s heartbreaking and beautiful and makes me cry like a baby.

J&K: What’s your favorite thing about the holiday season?

TR: I love winning Christmas. Yes, it’s a competition. If I can get one person the perfect gift that makes them gasp with surprise, then I’ve won. One year I got my boyfriend a DVD boxed set from his favorite director that he didn’t even know was out yet. So it was shock first that the boxed set even existed and joy second that he owned it. He admitted that that year, I OWNED Christmas.

J&K: Which 5 authors (dead or alive) would you invite for a holiday feast?

TR: Dead or alive? SWEET! Shakespeare, Agatha Christie, G.K. Chesterton, Douglas Adams, and Andrew Shaffer because he’s my boyfriend and Christmas dinner wouldn’t be the same without him. That and he’s hilarious and I think he and Douglas Adams would be tight.

J&K: What are you excited about for 2013?

TR: 7-I’m so excited for the release of The Mistress in 2013. It’s the final book in the first Original Sinner quartet and I think it’s the best of the four. It’ll finally tie things up before we dive into the prequels.

Quick questions:

Real tree or fake tree? Fake tree. My kittehs are allergic to real trees.
Specific gifts or gift cards? Specific gifts. Gift cards are for strangers and charities, not friends.
Tied up with ribbons or holiday garland? (last year you said you’d get back to us on this) Ribbons! Garland is itchy.
Re-gifting: Tacky or there’s a sneaky way to do it? Re-gifting only if you’re 100% certain someone will love it. I do this will a lot of the free books I get at conferences. I don’t read much romance but I know people who eat those books right up!
Holidays with Soren or Kingsley? As much as I adore Kingsley, I’m Catholic and I’d love to take Communion on Christmas from Søren. I’m very reverent toward Christmas as is Søren. But Kingsley does throw the BEST New Year’s Ever parties.
Favorite holiday smell. Winter on the air.
Author’s choice: Readers – if money was no object, what would you buy the most special person in your life? If money was no object, I would buy my boyfriend Andrew Shaffer a penthouse apartment in Manhattan since he loves New York so much.
Keep your friends close and your enemies closer...preferably in bed. That's always been Kingsley Edge's strategy with his associate, the notorious New York dominatrix Nora Sutherlin. But with Nora away in Kentucky, now it's Kingsley's chance to take her place at the feet of the only man he's ever wanted -- Søren, Nora's on-again, off-again lover -- until a new threat from an old enemy forces him to confront his past.
Wes Railey is still the object of Nora's tamest yet most maddening fantasies, and the one man she can't forget. He's young. He's wonderful. He's also thoroughbred royalty and she's in "his" world now. But Nora is no simpering Southern belle, and her dream of fitting into Wesley's world is perpetually at odds with her dear Søren's relentlessly seductive pull.
Two worlds of wealth and passion call to her and whichever one Nora chooses, it will be the hardest decision she will ever have to make... unless someone makes it for her....
