December Joyathon: Interview with Roni Loren + Giveaway (US/CA)

Roni Loren captivated us with her super sexy Loving on the Edge series last year with the debut of CRASH INTO YOU. Since then, she's been luring us back with the promise of love, laughter, angst and holy hotness in and out of the bedroom. We can't wait to get our hands on Master Grant's book in January.

Meet Roni:
Roni wrote her first romance novel at age fifteen when she discovered writing about boys was way easier than actually talking to them. Since then, her flirting skills haven’t improved, but she likes to think her storytelling ability has. She is the National Bestselling Author of The Loving on the Edge series from Berkley Heat. Jamie and Kati: Hi Roni! Welcome back to Romancing Rakes For The Love of Romance. Thanks for being part of our December Joyathon for a second year :)

J&K: Who is Roni Loren during the holidays? (author, gift giver, last minute shopper, baker)
Roni Loren: I’m definitely a last minute shopper and I hate the crowds in the stores, so I end up doing most of my shopping on the internet. And I know it’s shocking, but I end of giving a lot of books as gifts. : ) As for what I do on the actual holidays, it depends on where I’m at. Sometimes we go home to New Orleans and I’m visiting house to house in a marathon to try to see all my family. Other times, we go out of town and just spend it with my parents somewhere cold. This year we’re staying in Dallas, so that will be much more low key.

J&K: What’s the one holiday book everyone should read?
RL: Hmm, I don’t really read a lot of holiday themed books. Not sure why, but I tend to steer away from them. But I do read How the Grinch Stole Christmas with kidlet. : )

J&K: What holiday movie is more likely to be playing in your house: Elf, A Christmas Story, or Diehard?
RL: Die Hard, definitely. Though my favorites at holiday time are National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation, Home Alone, and Sleepless in Seattle.

J&K: Which one of your characters would you want to spend the holidays with?
RL: Aw, hell, you’re going to make me pick between my guys? Hmm, they all have their strengths. Reid would be good for a low-key, hang out cozy by the fire kind of holiday. Jace and Andre would be best for a let’s go on a trip and have fun holiday. And Grant would be good for hiding away in a mountain cabin somewhere and not leaving for anything except food. ;)

J&K: Do you write more or less during the holidays?
RL: It’s harder for me to write during the holidays because kidlet is out of school so much. But this year, I’m not going to be able to slack. I have a lot to write in the next month or two. Plus, my next release is on New Year’s Day so lots to do.

J&K: Which 5 authors (dead or alive) would you invite for a holiday feast?
RL: You know, I get super nervous around authors I’m a fangirl of, so I think that would be too stressful for a holiday feast, lol. I’d probably just invite a few of my author friends who live far away so that we could hang out and have a good time. : )

J&K: What are you excited about for 2013?
RL: I have two books coming out and my first e-serial, so I’m really excited that it’s going to such a busy year. The e-serial in particular has me jazzed because it’s such a different format, and I’m writing a younger, 1st person heroine for the first time. It’s fun to tackle a new challenge.

Quick questions:
Snowmen or snow angels? Always go with men over angels. Just sayin’.
Real tree or fake tree? Real even though they’re a mess. I love how they make the house smell.
Fruit cake or gingerbread? Gingerbread
Home for the holidays or visiting relatives? Home this year.
Christmas Day or Christmas Eve? Christmas Day
Re-Gifting: Tacky or Is there a sneaky way to do it? I have totally re-gifted before. And I’ve also given books that I’ve gotten for free as gifts, lol. Tacky maybe, but I’m frugal at heart.
Author’s choice. If you could get one gift this year (and cost wasn’t a factor), what would you want?

He’ll do anything for you. But you’d better say please.

When tomboy sports reporter Charli Beaumonde loses a dream TV job because she’s not girly enough for primetime, she’s determined to land a big scoop and prove her boss made a mistake. But when she gets too close to a football scandal and finds her life threatened, Charli accepts an offer from family friend Grant Waters to hide out at his place—even if Grant predicts nothing but trouble from his buddy’s hard-headed, uncompromising, irrepressible, younger sister. There’s one more problem…

Grant’s “place” is The Ranch, a BDSM resort in Texas, and he’s used to being in charge —even if that means trying to keep Charli in line. But much to Grant’s surprise, she’s intrigued—even envious—of his trainees. They’re the epitome of what she’s never been: sexy, beguiling, and totally irresistible to a man. Still, Grant doesn’t believe for a minute that the sharp-tongued Charli has it in her to be anyone’s submissive. But Charli’s already on her knees vying for the chance to prove that even the Master can be wrong sometimes.
