December Joyathon: Interview with Erin Knightley + Giveaway (US/CA/MX)

Erin Knightley is a new to us author who has made her way up the romance charts with her debut, More Than A Stranger. She's celebrating the holidays with a novella, Miss Mistletoe and in her honor, we will be watching A Charlie Brown Christmas. Did you know she's a Snoopy fan? Let's give Erin a warm Yuletide welcome to the blog...

Meet Erin:
Despite being an avid reader and closet writer her whole life, Erin Knightley decided to pursue a sensible career in science. It was only after earning her B.S. and working in the field for years that she realized doing the sensible thing wasn't any fun at all. Following her dreams, Erin left her practical side behind and now spends her days writing. Together with her tall, dark, and handsome husband and their three spoiled mutts, she is living her own Happily Ever After in North Carolina.

Jamie and Kati: Hi Erin! Welcome to Romancing Rakes For The Love of Romance. Thanks for being part of our December Joyathon :)

J&K: Who is Erin Knightley during the holidays? (author, gift giver, last minute shopper, baker)
Erin Knightley: More than anything, I’m just plain scatterbrained! Not a lot of writing will get done, especially since I work at the day job more for the holidays (big time of year for the jewelry industry). The good news is, I know how flighty I always am, so I usually have my shopping done by the first week of December :)

J&K: What’s the one holiday book everyone should read?
EK: My novella, Miss Mistletoe, of course! Lol, okay seriously, I would have to say Sabrina Jeffries’ T’was the Night After Christmas.

J&K: Which one of your characters would you want to spend the holidays with?
EK: Ha! Hands down, it would have to be my heroine Jane from A TASTE FOR SCANDAL. Who doesn’t want an accomplished baker around at the holidays?

J&K: Who gives the best gifts in your house?
EK: Probably my mother. She always finds the best things at the art fairs she frequents through the year. Plus, she always indulges my love for Snoopy with a little trinket or two :)

J&K: What do YOU want for Christmas?
EK: Oh, I am dying for an original Regency era map of England. Catherine Gayle recently found the most gorgeous map ever, and I totally have antique map envy. Of course, as a geography minor in college, you’ll have to forgive my cartophile ways!

J&K: Which 5 authors (dead or alive) would you invite for a holiday feast?
EK: Hmm – let’s go with the obvious of Jane Austen, then JK Rowling, Homer, Nora Roberts, and Tim Allen (for comic relief, of course!)

J&K: What are you currently working on? Can you give us a sneak peak?
EK: Oh, I am in the thick of revisions for book 3 of the Sealed With a Kiss series – FLIRTING WITH FORTUNE! I do actually have a blurb and excerpt on my blog, even though it doesn’t come out until September 2013: Click Here. I’m so excited about this book—I hope readers will be as well!

Quick questions:
Snowmen or snow angels? Snow Angels!
Real tree or fake tree? Bleck – real, of course! Fresh cut in my home state of NC :)
Favorite holiday smell – pine trees
Home for the holidays or visiting relatives? Home to visit my parents and siblings
Christmas Day or Christmas Eve? Christmas Eve! Oh, the glorious anticipation :)
Just enough decorations or “every tree lighted, blow up snowglobe, snow man in the yard” decorations? I do just a few, but my parents go all out and I love it!
Author’s choice: What’s your favorite Christmas special? Peanuts lover that I am, to me there is no greater special than A Charlie Brown Christmas :-)

Things have always fallen into place for Richard Moore, Earl of Raleigh. His good looks, abundance of charm, and the small matter of being heir to a marquisate make him quite the catch. So when a delectable young woman wants nothing to do with him, he can't help but seize the irresistible challenge.

Jane Bunting knows all about responsibility—she has managed to support herself and her brother with their bakery—but she knows nothing of excitement or passion. When dashing Lord Raleigh crosses the threshold of her shop, she has no idea of the potential danger to her reputation . . . or to her heart.

Neither imagined things would go so far—until the night their worlds collide, irrevocably changing both their lives. But when duty calls for Richard, and with everything Jane has worked for suddenly at stake, will their taste for scandal be their downfall?
