Jamie and Kati: Hi Anne! Welcome to Romancing Rakes For The Love of Romance! Thanks for celebrating our 2nd Annual December Joyathon with us :)
J&K: Who is Anne Barton during the holidays? (author, gift giver, last minute shopper, baker)
Anne Barton: Hostess, decorator, pretend baker. (Baking’s not my thing, but give me a cute reindeer apron, and I’m all in.)
J&K: What holiday movie is more likely to be playing in your house: Elf, A Christmas Story, or Diehard?
AB: A Christmas Story! Who could resist Ralphie in his bunny pajamas?
AB: Olivia Sherbourne—she’s a secondary character in my debut novel, always full of cheer and mischief. She’d know where to find the egg nog, the mistletoe, and the hot dukes.
J&K: What’s the one holiday book everyone should read?
AB: The Polar Express. Magical and moving.
AB: I love the way everything sparkles and how the house feels so cozy, filled with family and friends.
J&K: Which 5 authors (dead or alive) would you invite for a holiday feast?
AB: Jane Austen, of course! The other four guests would be my friends (and fellow Regency authors) Valerie Bowman, Erin Knightley, Ashlyn Macnamara, and Sara Ramsey, because um, if they knew I had Jane Austen over and didn’t invite them, they’d never let me hear the end of it!
J&K: What are you excited about for 2013?
AB: The Les Miserables movie, which opens on Christmas Day, and Season 3 of Downtown Abbey, starting Jan. 6. Also, I can’t wait for my first ever book launch party in early February.
Real tree or fake tree? Real, with colored lights and tacky/homemade ornaments on every branch.
Specific gifts or gift cards? Gifts—I love to wrap presents!
Fruit cake or gingerbread? Gingerbread with extra whipped cream, please!
Just enough decorations or “every tree lighted, blow up snowglobe, snow man in the yard” decorations? You can never have too many decorations!
Home for the holidays or visiting relatives? A little of both.
Gifts under the tree throughout the month or Santa delivering all on Christmas Eve? Under the tree, no shaking allowed! :)
Author’s choice: Here’s a question for you: What edible holiday treat do you look forward to most? Give us the mouth-watering details, please!
WHEN SHE WAS WICKED:
SOME RULES SIMPLY BEG TO BE BROKENPre-Order A Copy: Amazon | Kindle | B&N | Nook | Books-A-Million
A dressmaker in London’s busiest shop, Miss Anabelle Honeycote overhears the ton’s steamiest secrets—and (occasionally) uses them to her advantage. It isn’t something she’s proud of, but the reluctant blackmailer needs the money to care for her gravely ill mother. To make up for her misdeeds, Anabelle keeps to a firm set of rules:
Her list keeps her (somewhat) honest—until she encounters Owen Sherbourne, the Duke of Huntford. Not only does Owen nip Anabelle’s extortion plans in the bud, the devilishly handsome Duke soon has the sexy seamstress dreaming of more than silks and satins. With Owen, Anabelle enjoys pleasures she never imagined. . . until a scandal from the past resurfaces. Now her rules could mean his family’s ruin. Owen’s searing kisses carry the promise of passion, but how will he react when Anabelle’s most devastating secret is finally revealed?
