Tomorrow is November 30th and that means that Christmas, and Hanukkah, is right around the corner. Last week I watched Santa arrive at the end of the Thanksgiving Day parade and watched the lights start to go up on the houses. And you know what I thought… Bah Hum Bug.
Yeah. I said it. I am a total Grinch… or Scrooge. I’ve never really been a fan of the holidays. When I was little Santa scared me. I don’t see the fuss of finding the perfect tree to decorate. Yes, I do enjoy presents, I can’t lie about that, but I just don’t see the big deal about it. My favorite holiday movie is How The Grinch Stole Christmas (the cartoon version), though I do enjoy Elf. I’m just not a Christmas person.
That being said, my family is. So to try and find my holiday cheer I pick up some holiday books to read. It helps keep the Grinch away. So I decided to give you some of my favorite holiday reads. Jane’s Gift by Karen Erickson I read this in a day because I loved it that much. I couldn’t put it down. Hot firefighter and a woman scarred from a fire who try to find love. Such an emotional story but so wonderful.
(priced at $2.99)A Season of Seduction by Jennifer Haymore I’m a huge fan of Jennifer Haymore and this was such a great story. It’s the third book in her James Family series and can be read alone but I highly recommend the first two.
(currently priced at $6.99)As You Wish by Elyssa Patrick I’ve talked about this book a couple of weeks ago and if you haven’t read it yet then you are missing out. A rockstar, a quirky heroine and some Christmas cheer.
(currently priced at $0.99)Must Love Mistletoe by Christie Ridgway Baily Sullivan can’t stand Christmas even though her family business is all about it. Home to save her family’s store she runs into her high school crush
(currently priced at $0.99)Small Town Christmas anthology by Jill Shalvis, Katie Lane, Hope Ramsey Three great stories though my favorite is Jill Shalvis’s because it takes us back to Lucky Harbor.
(currently priced at $2.99 for Kindle)
