Studio Smexy™ Saturdays: Model Ender + Giveaway (International)

A note from Kati: Gah! Where do I even begin to describe this new member to Studio Smexy? Um, how about I discovered him on Model Mayhem when Jenn was looking for someone to shoot during our time in Portland? Yup. You're welcome. How can you go wrong with a guy named Ender? Jenn and I squeed over that fact since one of her characters in her next book's nickname is Ender...

After reading his interview you'll swoon and fall instantly in love. Hopefully we'll see more of this guy in the studio soon. Don't forget to ask for him. Maybe we'll get Jenn back to Portland (I'll sneak in her suitcase. It's big enough.) or him to Denver for another shoot *evil grin* Perhaps this time with a spritz bottle. I'm pretty good with those.

A note from Jenn: When I saw his name I swooned. I have a hero nicknamed Ender. He's Baron Endsleigh, to the world and Ender to his friends, and his road is a difficult one.

But I digress.

This Ender is the one out of manymanymany models I scouted for the shoot in Portland, and I will go back and shoot him again. Or bring him to Denver. It WILL happen. He was fantastic, has a great sense of humor, is a fun guy, and yes... He is very pretty. Shirt on or off.

I was excited to see his answers to the questions, I have a soft spot for archers. I'm actually in the market for a compound bow... I might be acquiring one today, actually. I've long thought archery was damn cool, and you know who is a bow-hunter, so he fits right in around these parts. Anyway, you probably stopped reading this... Because Ender is down there... I don't blame you. :)

Jamie's Juicy Tidbits: JR Ward

A note from Kati: Before I let Jamie go all crazy-like with her love for all things Black Dagger Brotherhood (BDB, henceforth), I have a confession to make. Before Jamie pushed the BDB on me, I had no clue who JR Ward was *gasp*. I had never heard of the Black Dagger Brotherhood. Sure, I'd read vampire romances but goodness gracious! This series is not to be missed. At. All. I ended up buying the backlist AND also bought the Fallen Angels series as well which is set in the same town as the BDB-verse.

Take it away Jamie...

FALLING FOR YOU by Heather Thurmeier

Genre: Contemporary

Publisher: Crimson Romance (August 20, 2012)

Newly single Cassidy Quinn is thrilled to be a contestant on the new reality dating show The One. But her excitement turns to horror when the gorgeous bachelor turns out to be her ex-boyfriend. Seeing Brad again makes Cassidy realize she might not be as “over him” as she thought—and then she meets hunky cameraman Evan Burke.

After watching his brother lose his wife in a tragic accident, Evan vows never to fall in love. But following Cassidy around as her personal cameraman makes him question his decision, and resisting her gets harder with every sunbathing, bikini-wearing day.
Cassidy and Evan begin a forbidden affair while her ex-boyfriend tries to win her heart back one groping, awkward moment at a time. If Cassidy can manage to stop falling off horses (literally), stop falling onto her ex-boyfriend, the bachelor (yes, literally), and stop falling in love with backstage playboy Evan, she might still make it through the show without becoming a tabloid sensation.

But soon Cassidy must choose between the ex who broke her heart and the cameraman who might never love her back. For Cassidy, this reality show just got real.

Jamie's Juicy Tidbits: Firemen Romances

We, at Romancing Rakes For The Love of Romance, love our firemen heroes. We also love firemen in real life thanks to the fabulous Jenn LeBlanc and her fear of them. Yeah, we're a little mean. With the new show Chicago Fire on NBC, Jamie thought it would be time to break out the firemen romances. After all, who can resist a man who puts his life on the line to save people, babies and puppies? Or Joe Manganiello in turnouts? That works for us!

We'll wait while you wipe the drool off of course computer keys.

Sabrina Darby took the romance world by storm with THE SHORT AND FASCINATING TALE OF ANGELINA WHITCOMBE, a story of a wounded war hero and a fallen woman. How totally appropriate for our celebration :)

Fallen Women Week: Guest Post with Jess Michaels + Giveaway(US)

Today for Fallen Women Week we would like to welcome Jess Michaels to the blog. You may also know her as Jenna Petersen, author of the Billingham Bastards trilogy (WHAT THE DUKE DESIRES, THE UNCLAIMED DUCHESS and A SCOUNDREL'S SURRENDER), the Jordan's, the Lady Spies trilogy and many others. Today she is sharing her naughtier side as Jess.

Meet Jess:
Writing as Jenna Petersen for historical romances and Jess Michaels for erotic romances (mostly historical), I wear a lot of hats. And I've been lucky to see my books become award-winners and bestsellers over the years. I've also been lucky to meet readers, other writers and editors/agents and be able to count many of them as friends.

I have a degree in Psychology from the University of Washington that I do not use except to make my characters lives hell. I am married to my best friend and we live in Tucson, AZ with our two cats. Some of my favorite things are travel, winning our family football pool, reading, being an aunt to two wonderful nephews and, of course, writing.

Fallen Women Week: Interview with Mary Balogh + Giveaway (International)

Mary Balogh (rhymes with Kellog) is an award winning romance author who has written more than 60 books. Whether it's the Huxtables, The Simply series, the Bedwyn Saga or the Mistress trilogy, you'll find her heroes dashing and her heroines strong-willed. Today Mary is sharing one of her fallen women and we're giving away a copy of the book. Let's give Mary a warm welcome.

Meet Mary:
As an adult, Balogh discovered the world of the historical romance as written by Georgette Heyer. The vast majority of Balogh's novels have been set in Regency or Georgian England or Wales. Although she writes historical romances, Mary Balogh's heroines are often not "ladies". Some are courtesans, illegitimate, "fallen" or "ruined" women. All enjoy passion, and often a marriage and/or a sensual connection precedes recognition of love.

Balogh began her writing career in 1983, when she wrote her first novel A Masked Deception in the evenings at the kitchen table while home and family functioned around her. A Masked Deception was accepted by Signet and published in 1985. Mary Balogh won the Romantic Times Award for best new Regency writer that year.

She is the author of more than 60 published novels and over 30 novellas and has met with critical success. She has received numerous awards, including a Romantic Times Career Achievement Award for Regency Short Stories in 1993 and has appeared on the New York Times bestseller list.

Fallen Women Week: Guest Post with Sophia James + Giveaway

Today for Fallen Women Week we have Sophia James sharing her latest release, LADY WITH THE DEVIL'S SCAR. Sophia writes historicals for Harlequin and her book covers are gorgeous. You know how we like our covers here at Romancing Rakes For The Love of Romance. Let's give Sophia a warm welcome...

Meet Sophia:

Georgette Heyer novels formed Sophia James's reading tastes as a teenager lying in the sun on her grandmother's porch overlooking a wild west-coast beach.

Her writing life, however, started in Bilbao, Spain. After having three wisdom teeth extracted she was given a pile of Mills and Boons--filled with strong painkillers she imagined that she could pen one, too.

Many drafts later she thinks she has the perfect job writing for Harlequin Historical as well as taking art tours to Europe with her husband who is a painter.

Three almost-grown-up children, lots of pets and house renovations that are never quite finished complete the equation.

Fallen Women Week: Interview with Delilah Marvelle + Giveaway (US)

Delilah Marvelle is one of our favorite authors to host on the blog and hang out with a cons. She's an absolute hoot and her books will keep you up all night while setting your loins ablaze. Okay, that's inappropriate but for those who know Delilah, inappropriate is the name of the game. Today Delilah is sharing why fallen women are a delight to write and a super exclusive excerpt from the much anticipated third book of The School of Gallantry series. <

Meet Delilah:
Delilah Marvelle spent her youth studying various languages, reading voraciously and playing the pianoforte. She confesses that here ends the extent of her gentle breeding. She was a naughty child who was forever torturing her parents with countless adventures that they did not deem respectable. Confined to her room on many occasions due to these misadventures, she discovered the quill and its amazing power. Soon, to the dismay of her parents, she rather enjoyed being confined to her room. She is a two time Golden Heart finalist and winner of RT's Best Sensual Historical Romance of the Year. Jamie's Juicy Tidbits: Hockey Romance Heroes

It’s October. Fall is in the air. It’s starting to get chilly out and I’m ready to get my hoodies out. And to top it off… its hockey season. Wait! Where is the hockey? What? The NHL is in a lockout. This is ridiculous.

Ok, so I knew the NHL was in a lockout and I may be over reacting because I miss my hockey fix. I miss seeing Henrik Lundqvist between the pipes and Ryan Callahan skating up and down the ice. Yes, I’m a NY Rangers fan, just don’t tell the Sasquatch because he’s a Devils fan and I’ve been keeping this from him.

Anyway, without any hockey games to watch I figured I may need to get my fix in another way. So what’s a better way then to spend the lockout curled up with some sexy hockey guys… in books of course. So if you are looking for a hockey fix, or just want some hockey romance, let me share some of my favorite hockey romance books.

Today we would like to welcome Kelley Vitollo to Romancing Rakes For The Love of Romance. She is answering questions about her latest release, LUCKY BREAK. Before we get to that, let's give Kelley a warm welcome and get to know her a bit.

Meet Kelley:
Kelley Vitollo has been writing for as long as she can remember. In 2004 Kelley, her husband and their new baby girl made a move from Oregon to Southern California and that’s when everything changed. As a stay-at-home mom for the first time, her passion for writing flared to life again.

Things haven’t been the same since.

With two incredible daughters, an awesome husband and her days spent writing what she loves, Kelley considers herself the luckiest girl in the world. She still resides in sunny Southern California, where she loves spending time with her family and sneaking away to the bookstore with her laptop.
