HER LOVE HAS COME ALONG…
Amy Michaels loves her new life in Lucky Harbor. A waitress in the local diner, she’s looking forward to her first weekend hike through the mountains. But when a wrong turn takes her off the trail, she finds herself up close and personal with forest ranger Matt Bowers. And even though she’s tempted to kiss that sexy smile right off his face, she won’t make the mistake of getting involved with the town heartthrob.
A former cop whose life went south, Matt doesn’t let anyone get too close. But something about the feisty beauty caught his eye the moment he first saw her in the diner. After a hot night under a starry sky, Matt can’t deny their attraction-or the fact that for the first time in a long time, he feels the stirrings of something more. Now it’s up to Matt to help Amy see that, no matter what is in their past, together they can build a future in Lucky Harbor.

REVIEW:

Amy Michaels has had a rough life. At 16 she left a bad home and moved around. But now she lives in Lucky Harbor, a place where her grandmother had found hope, peace and heart. So using her grandmother’s diary she heads off to the locations she wrote about. However, the self-proclaimed city girl gets a bit off course.

Matt Bowers, sexy forest ranger, ex-SWAT, has been crushing on Amy for months. So when Amy’s best friend Mallory informs him that she’s lost in the park he heads off to rescue her. By the time he finds her it’s too late to head back so they are forced to spend the night under the stars.

GAH! The sexual tension between these two is off the charts! Amy wants Matt and Matt wants Amy but they are both afraid to let that turn into anything. But when they finally get together there’s no denying they are good together, at least in bed. But they both suffer from their pasts and letting the other in isn’t easy.

We get to see a lot of our favorite secondary characters. You get to see a lot of Amy and Matt’s relationships with their friends. A lot of my favorite scenes are when Matt is with Josh and Ty. Then we get to see Amy with Mallory and Grace, which is nice considering that Amy isn’t big on letting people in. It shows a lot about her.

Lucille is a hoot! She is the nosy woman who runs the town Facebook page, and is usually meddling in people’s lives. She refers to Matt as “Ranger Hot Buns” which then has everyone calling him that. She’s just funny, but she also knows when to pull back. She’s a constant in Lucky Harbor.

Favorite Quote
“You know,” he said quietly. “Sometimes, being alone isn’t all its cracked up to be.”
Overall: I love Matt and Amy. I love that they are not perfect and that they have to fight for what they have. Watching them both open up and let the other in had my heart racing. This is a must read.

If you're not reading Jill Shalvis then you are missing out on some awesome stories. With At Last she adds just the right amount of humor and adventure into the romance. She creates likeable characters that you can relate too on some level. She is now on my auto read list. I love her Lucky Harbor series and I can’t wait for Josh and Grace’s story.

At Last is the 5th book in the Lucky Harbor series but can really be read as book 2 of 3 in the second trilogy.
