Casting Call with Elise Rome + Giveaway

Elise Rome aka Ashley March has been such an instrumental author in our first year of blogging. She's brought us wonderful stories full of love, second chances and forgiveness. She celebrated our first annual December Joyathon with us, visited the blog during her EPIC blog tour for Romancing The Countess (twice cause we heart her), introduced us to this fabulous author/photographer named Jenn LeBlanc and invited us to participate in her 2nd Annual March Madness Blog Party. She's fun, fabulous, fantastic and we hope to meet her this summer. She still owes Kati some Blue Bell Ice Cream. Plus, the Rome girls are totes adorbs!

Meet Elise:
Elise Rome has never forgiven Margaret Mitchell for making her fall in love with Scarlett and Rhett in Gone with the Wind and then not giving them a happy ending. She likes to think that she makes up for this injustice with each romance novel she writes. When she isn't telling stories about sexy, headstrong heroes and intelligent, independent heroines, Elise stays busy chasing after her two young daughters, semi-attempting to do housework, and hiking in the beautiful foothills of Colorado.

Surprise! If you’re looking for Ashley, she’s changed her name to Elise Rome because she’ll soon be self-publishing her books.

ROMANCING THE COUNTESS is the story of two people who never should have been together…yet who were drawn together by fate when their spouses had an affair and died in a carriage accident.

In this book, Leah George is a widow who has spent all of her life obeying Society’s rules and, specifically, her mother’s rules. Although she loved her husband, she initially intended to marry him because her parents thought it was a good match. She found out about her husband’s affair (with his best friend’s wife—the best friend being the hero in this story) before they died, and she kept the secret until the very end. Now that she’s a widow, she is anxious to finally abandon the rules she’s followed all of her life and finally live for herself. Because she is described as slender with an ordinary type of prettiness, the best actress I can think of to act as Leah would be Rooney Mara.

The widower in this book is Sebastian Madinger, the Earl of Wriothesly. Unlike Leah, he doesn’t find out about his best friend’s affair with his wife until after they die. He was very much in love with his wife and has to deal with feelings of betrayal, anger, and grief over the death of two people he loved, all at the same time. When we’re first introduced to Sebastian’s character through Leah’s eyes, she describes his features in such a way that he seems “more of a mountain than a man”, someone who is more ruggedly handsome than gorgeous. Although my hero has dark hair and Daniel Craig has blond hair, I can see him as the perfect fit for Sebastian’s intense character.

I’ll be giving away one print copy of ROMANCING THE COUNTESS to a random winner (open internationally)!

Sebastian Madinger, the Earl of Wriothesly, thought he'd married the perfect woman-until a fatal accident revealed her betrayal with his best friend. After their deaths, Sebastian is determined to avoid a scandal for the sake of his son. But his best friend's widow is just as determined to cast her mourning veil aside by hosting a party that will surely destroy both their reputations and expose all of his carefully kept secrets...

Leah George has carried the painful knowledge of her husband's affair for almost a year. All she wants now is to enjoy her independence and make a new life for herself-even if that means being ostracized by the Society whose rules she was raised to obey. Now that the rumors are flying, there's only one thing left for Sebastian to do: silence the scandal by enticing the improper widow into becoming a proper wife. But when it comes to matters of the heart, neither Sebastian nor Leah is prepared for the passion they discover in each other's arms....
