Dianne Duvall's Immortal Guardians series has taken the romance world by storm. A new twist on the vampire myth in which vampires aren't sexy but deranged bloodsuckers and a group of Immortal Guardians are sworn to eradicate the threat. The immortals are gifted, living for centuries. Seriously, doesn't this sound like an awesome book series that could totally be made into a movie or show on HBO or Starz? After all, it would be too sexy for basic cable.
Welcome To the Blog Dianne!!!
When she isn't writing, Dianne is active in the independent film industry and once even appeared onscreen as a machete-wielding maniac not unlike the vampires she so loves to create in her novels.

Thank you, Kati and Jamie, for letting me participate in the big celebration! I’m thrilled to be here today! If you’ve seen my post over at Ramblings From This Chick, you already know why I jumped at the chance to cast my books. If not: When I’m not writing, I work in the local independent film industry. And, while I help directors cast their feature film, short film and music video projects, I admit I spend a lot of time imagining casting my own projects, namely film versions of my books. I had so much fun choosing the actors I would like to see portray my characters. In my Night Reigns cast, you’ll see many of the same faces from my Darkness Dawns cast plus some new additions. I hope you’ll like them! :-)
About The SeriesIn my Immortal Guardians series, vampires aren’t dead. Or undead. They are humans who have been infected with a very rare symbiotic virus that lends them dramatically increased speed, strength, and senses. It also bestows upon them an unfortunate photosensitivity and need for blood. Immortals in my series are gifted ones (men and women born with extremely advanced DNA) who are infected with the same virus and boast the same enhanced abilities, photosensitivity, and need for blood. But the similarities end there.
Vampires also suffer progressive brain damage, as a result of the virus, that causes them to rapidly descend into madness. The advanced DNA Immortals possess protects them from this. It also lends them special abilities vampires lack, such as telepathy, telekinesis, teleportation, and others. Immortals have, therefore, taken it upon themselves to hunt down the insane vampires who prey upon humans, and enlist the aid of a network of human assistants to do so. The employees of the network range from Seconds (personal assistants and guards of individual immortals) to cleaners (those who “clean up” the messes immortals sometimes leave behind when hunting vampires) to doctors and scientists who are searching for a cure for the virus or at least some way to prevent the brain damage that occurs in vampires.
Sarah Bingham: Once a music theory professor at UNC Chapel Hill, she desired only rest and relaxation . . . until she found Roland staked to the ground, being tortured by two others in the meadow behind her home, and used her trusty shovel to liberate him, becoming the target of a vicious vampire army.
David: The second eldest and most powerful Immortal Guardian. Like Seth, he considers all Immortals and their Seconds family and opens his homes to them, aiding them in any way he can and putting their safety and happiness above his own. He is a very powerful healer and telepath, but possesses other interesting gifts as well.
Bastien (Sebastien Newcombe): Roland’s nemesis. He did what was previously considered impossible — raised a vampire army large enough to pose a serious threat to the Immortal Guardians — and tried to eradicate them one victim at a time. While doing so, he earned the hatred of immortals, vampires, and humans alike.
Dennis – The Vampire King: A vampire steeped in madness who raises an army even larger than Bastien’s and enlists the aid of a new enemy who will endanger the Immortal Guardians’ very existence.
Chris Reordon: Head of the East Coast division of the network of humans who aid the Immortal Guardians. He is fiercely protective of both the immortals and his employees and will do anything to ensure their safety.
Darnell: David’s Second, or human assistant, who played an integral role in helping Ami recover and interacts with more immortals than any other Second.
Dr. Melanie Lipton: A doctor with the human network who is daring enough to work hands-on with vampires as she searches for a cure for the virus or a way to prevent the madness it induces in humans.
Lisette d’Alençon: A French immortal and telepath, roughly two hundred years old. After being infected and nearly slain by her husband, she inadvertently infected both of her brothers and still labors beneath the guilt.
Richart d’Alençon: A French immortal, roughly two hundred years old. He is Lisette’s brother and Étienne’s twin. Born with the ability to teleport, he’s a strong ally in any battle.
Étienne d’Alençon: A French immortal and telepath, roughly two hundred years old. He is Lisette’s brother and Richart’s twin.

Ami isn't much for trusting strangers. She has a hard time trusting anyone. But she's no coward, and she's no pushover in the protection department either. So when she comes across a mysterious warrior taking on eight deranged vampires on his own, she doesn't hesitate to save his bacon. Of course, that was before she realized what one little rescue would get her into . . .
Marcus Grayden has been an immortal protector of humanity for eight hundred years, and at the moment he's not interested in backup. From the moment Ami arrives in his life, he can't deny that she's strong, smart, and extremely skilled at watching his back. But she's also destroying his protective solitude and stirring desires he can't bear to awaken. After all, whatever her secrets -- how can she defeat death itself?
