The Truth Can Be an Irresistible Temptation . . .

As a young boy, Quinn Conway was shattered by his mother's mysterious disappearance. Today, as the oldest of the Conway brothers, his only concern is protecting his family and their ranch. One look at beautiful, strong-willed Cheyenne O'Brien tells him she's also no stranger to tragedy. A series of increasingly dangerous "accidents" are plaguing her and her land, and Quinn can't stand idly by while a woman is in danger.

Fiercely independent, Cheyenne isn't one to lean on others, yet she can't deny her attraction to the rugged rancher offering help. Soon, the passion building between them proves as wild and untamed as the land she loves-and just as impossible to resist. But a relentless enemy is about to make one final devastating move. To survive, Quinn and Cheyenne must put their cherished freedom-and their hearts-at risk . . .

Hot Cowboy: check.
Strong Heroine: check.
A bit of mystery: check.

Quinn Conway is the oldest of three brothers. After a horrible incident that he and his brothers witnessed he has spent most of his life studying wolves. When he witnesses his Alpha wolf die at the hand of a rancher he goes to confront him. Only it’s not a him.

Cheyenne O’Brien has had a rough couple of years with the death of her brother followed by her father. So when Quinn shows up yelling about killing his wolf she doesn’t back down, she puts him in his place. But then a series of “accidents” bring them together as they try to figure out who’s behind it all.

He’d burst into her life like an avenging angel, and she’d both feared and disliked him on sight. The change in her attitude had been so gradual, so easy, she hadn’t even been aware of it. But it had seemed the most natural thing in the world to invite him to spend the night.
Quinn started out a bit slow and I was worried it was going to be a stilted cowboy story. But once Quinn and Cheyenne met the story picked up and I was completely drawn in. Even though I figured out the “villain” pretty early on and it seemed a bit far-fetched, the suspense had me turning the page.

There is no denying the chemistry between Quinn and Cheyenne but I almost wish it were drawn out more. Though when these two get together they certainly smoke up the sheets. I can’t wait to learn more about the brothers and I hope we discover what happened to Quinn’s mom.
