Interview with Natasha Blackthorne, Author of Grey's Lady

Do you like your historical romances hot, hot, hot? Do you like erotic historical romance? Of course you do. Are you ready for a change of scenery? How about Jeffersonian America? Intriguing, you say. Meet Natasha Blackthorne, author of Grey's Lady, a story of a seductress, a self-controlled merchant prince and the sexual intimacy that may lead to more than just a physical relationship.
HOWDY NATASHA!

Meet Natasha:
Flirting with the Forbidden…Emotional, Evocative, Erotic Historical Romance from the Georgian and Regency Eras Set in England and America.
Natasha always was a daydreamer who told herself stories of love and romance set in other times and places for her own pleasure. Eventually her story worlds became so real, they demanded to be brought out of the world of imagination and onto the page. It gives her great joy to finally share them with you. She hopes you enjoy my story world.
She is married to her own hero and they share they life with a very quirky calico cat. She is a total history nerd who loves to read. She enjoys literature, romance, psychology, and bits of everything else. She has a BA in History and she especially enjoys studying social history and biography and this is where most of my story ideas come from. She likes to know her characters from the bones outward, the air they breathe, the food they eat, the thoughts and social movements and morals that were influencing them in their times. She also enjoys reading psychology and sociology and literature and enjoys listening to music from many different genres.

Now, with her father's death, she's inherited his sizable debt and the responsibility of caring for his spoiled longtime mistress and her two wastrel daughters. But with the help of Sabine's eccentric friends--the balance of her father's acting troupe--she plants to get very close to her old infatuation, seduce the rake--an make off with a fortune.

Interview with Jenn LeBlanc and Derek Hutchins

© Romancing Rakes
Oh dear readers, I had quite the time giggling and being inappropriate with the fabulous Jenn LeBlanc, author of THE RAKE AND THE RECLUSE and The Derek Hutchins, cover model and Gideon from THE RAKE AND THE RECLUSE. There was supposed to be a video included with this post but, it's not fit for viewing purposes so I will give you a Cliff Notes version of what went on.

First off, we all had issues signing on to Vokle, then Derek couldn't hear us, there was awesome feedback since he had no headphones, we (Jenn and I) giggled a lot, at the beginning Jenn was a one woman show while Derek and I were frozen, there was something about Words with Friends, there were hand gestures involved but we finally got down to the nitty gritty. It somehow ended up being almost an hour. WOWZA!

So without further ado, here is the abridged version of our wonderful night:

Blog Tour: Guest Post & Giveaway with Maggie Robinson

Welcome to the Blog Tour:

First off, can I just say that Maggie Robinson has some seriously gorgeous and extremely hot covers? Yes she does! She is the author of the Courtesan Court Series and her alter ego is Margaret Rowe who writes deliciously wicked and sexier books than Maggie. But, Maggie has come to play today. Perhaps we shall have Margaret as a guest some other time. So let's give a great big Texas "Howdy" to Maggie.

HOWDY MAGGIE!

Meet Maggie:
Maggie Robinson is a former teacher, library clerk and mother of four who woke up in the middle of the night, absolutely compelled to create the perfect man and use as many adverbs as possible doing so. A transplanted New Yorker, she lives with her not-quite perfect husband in Maine, where the cold winters are ideal for staying inside and writing hot historical romances.

GUEST POST:

Historical Review: Mistress by Mistake by Maggie Robinson

MISTRESS BY MISTAKE by Maggie Robinson
FORMAT: Kindle
GENRE: Historical Romance
MASS MARKET PAPERBACK: 352 pages
PUBLISHER: Kensington Brava (April 27, 2010)
Scandal Is Only The Beginning...
Charlotte Fallon let her guarded virtue fall once-and she's paid dearly for it ever since. She swore she'd never succumb to men's desires again. But even a village spinster's life miles from temptation can't save her from a sister with no shame whatsoever. Or a heart that longs for more, whatever the cost...
Sir Michael Bayard found more than he expected in his bed when he finally joined his new mistress. He'd fantasized about her dewy skin and luscious curves, assured her understanding that what passed between them was mere dalliance. But he didn't expect the innocence and heat of her response in his arms. Nor her surprisingly sharp tongue once she was out of them...
A few days of abandon cannot undo the hard-learned lessons of a lifetime. Nor can an honest passion burn away the restraints of society's judgments. Unless, of course, one believes in nonsense like true love... (source)

Happy Book Birthday

Lots of books coming out today. Holy wow! It's like a freaking EXPLOSION of ink and paper! I've been waiting for Victoria Dahl's BAD BOYS DO. Oh that Jamie Donovan. And men in trews or rather, without in Maya Banks's SEDUCTION OF A HIGHLAND LASS. That teaser at the end of IN BED WITH A HIGHLANDER left me wanting. Finally the wait is over. And hello Victoria Alexander. Where have you been? HIS MISTRESS BY CHRISTMAS is what I've been waiting for. Oh yeah and it's getting closer to the holiday joyathon (October-December) and I'm hoping to see quite a few holiday themed books. I'm a sucker for those.

HAPPY BOOK BIRTHDAY:

Man Candy Monday: Blue/White Collar

Good Monday morning to you my lovelies! It's your favorite day of the week: Man Candy Monday. Twitter will explode with pictures and links of dressed, semi-dressed and absolutely nekkid (please put some sort of warning with these) men. We've been known to break Twitter a time or two. Yup, that whale with the birds has shown up a few times on Monday nights.
Do remember to be courteous to your fellow Man Candy Monday babes when it comes to sharing pictures. We like to drink when viewing the pictures so our keyboards, laptops, iPads or what have you, have been known to take the brunt of our liquid spewage. Please, please, please put a warning.

Today's theme: Blue/White Collar. Or so I've been told.

Man Candy Monday: Blue Eyes

Good Monday morning to you. Don't look so sad. Turn that frown upside down Sad Panda. It's another edition of Man Candy Monday here at Romancing Rakes. And guess what the theme for tonight is? BLUE EYES!!!
So join us tonight on Twitter with the hashtag #ManCandyMonday at 8PM CDT (6,7 and 9 for the rest of us). Bring your fully clothed, semi-clothed or absolutely stark naked pictures of drool worthy blue eyed man candy. Please put a warning with the NSFW ones since some of the Man Candy Monday Babes have a tendency to sip on a beverage and spew or view in public (they live on the edge). What's that? Of course you can bring non blue eyed men. After all, it turns into a free-for-all 10 minutes into the photo sharing.

Okay, enough words. Just pictures:

Five Friday Favorites

Happy Friday everyone! Not much happening this week. It's kind of a been a slow and quiet week which is slightly surprising. No giant explosion of book releases. No movies I really want to see. Although, SMG returned to television. Who is SMG you ask? Sarah Michelle Gellar, of Buffy the Vampire Slayer fame. Back to The CW which used to be The WB which was the network for all late 90s must watch teen dramas. I think my mailman has a fascination with romance books because I haven't gotten any books that I've been waiting on. The least he could do is leave me a note right?

So, these are my five friday faves:

Welcome to the Blog Tour...
Ok, so I might be a little stalkerish when it comes to Ashley March. I had her on the blog not too long ago and she's back again. For those of you a little tardy for the party: Welcome to Ashley's EPIC Blog Tour. She's so sweet, awesome and fabu. So without further ado, please give another big Texas "HOWDY" to my fellow Texan (she lives in Colorado now):

HOWDY ASHLEY!!!!

Meet Ashley:
I was born and raised in East Texas, moved to Colorado after getting married eight years ago, and have been craving snow-free winters ever since. I have a husband who just keeps getting better and better over time and two beautiful daughters. I write contemporary and historical romances, I have two amazing critique partners, an awesome publisher (NAL), an absolutely fantastic agent (Sara Megibow of the Nelson Literary Agency) and, as can be seen above, a slight problem with using too many adjectives.
Life is simply…fantastic.

Man Candy Monday: Hot Brits Edition

Bring your pictures, snark and droolage to Twitter tonight using the #ManCandyMonday hashtag at 8PM CDT (6,7 and 9 for the rest of us). We, the Man Candy Monday Babes, are not held responsible if you get in trouble with your boss, your spouse, your significant other or nosy neighbor, if you get caught staring at hot man-ness. Please view responsibly.

Happy Monday Man Candy Babes! *sigh* This was much harder than I thought it would be since today’s theme is Brit Man Candy. It's all about the accent and our preconceived notion of excellent lovers for which I blame historical romance books. They've been portrayed as rogues, rakes, scoundrels and ravishers of innocent women, which appeals to many of us. I may or may not put extra pictures of Henry Cavill on here (hellooo bulge of steel!)

So here it goes. Less words, more pictures.
