Sealed with A Kiss: Sophie Barnes + Giveaway (ebook)

Welcome to day ten of our Sealed with A Kiss event. It's always a pleasure to have Sophie Barnes join us for a fun blog event.

WELCOME BACK TO THE BLOG SOPHIE!!!

Meet Sophie:
Born in Denmark, Sophie has spent her youth traveling with her parents to wonderful places all around the world. She’s lived in five different countries, on three different continents, and speaks Danish, English, French, Spanish and Romanian.

She has studied design in Paris and New York and has a bachelor’s degree from Parson’s School of design, but most impressive of all – she’s been married to the same man three times, in three different countries and in three different dresses.

While living in Africa, Sophie turned to her lifelong passion – writing.

When she’s not busy, dreaming up her next romance novel, Sophie enjoys spending time with her family, swimming, cooking, gardening, watching romantic comedies and, of course, reading. She currently lives on the East Coast.

Written by Alexandra Ashford, Countess of Trenton (née Summersby), to her husband roughly six months after their wedding.

I hope this letter finds you in good health, that you are safe and sound in Aberdeen, and that I have no need for concern. You know how I worry, silly though it may be, yet I don’t believe that this is something that will ever change – not when I love you as achingly much as I do.

This time last year, I never would have pictured myself sitting here now, the wife of an earl and with a home of my own to manage. There was too much fear in my heart back then for me to contemplate the change you’ve stirred in me since our first meeting outside The Royal Oak. To think only ten months have passed since that rainy morning is unfathomable – I certainly wouldn’t have imagined myself your wife considering how determined I was to resist your charms. And yet, as my belly increases and our little one grows inside me, I feel a rightness to it all.

You will no doubt be pleased to hear that I don’t find myself bored or wishing I were fighting off ruffians in a duel, for I have been so busy preparing for the birth that succumbing to my hoydenish ways has been the furthest thing from my mind – I just miss having you by my side, that is all.

It is for this reason that I anxiously await your return. You are my truest friend and ally, you gave me the courage to choose a lifetime of happiness when instinct told me to choose one of loneliness, and you showed me that jeopardizing my heart was worth the risk since the prize to be won was the grandest one of all - your everlasting love and affection. I hope you know that I love you with equal fervor.

Forever and always, your devoted wife,

Lady Alexandra Summersby is not your average society miss. Not only is she more likely to climb a tree than she is to wear a dress, but she has also sworn off marriage. Alex loves taking chances, which is how she finds herself embroiled in a secret mission as she races across the country with the Earl of Trenton. But Alexandra is about to discover that the real danger lies not in duels, but in her completely unexpected reaction to Lord Trenton’s company.

Michael Ashford, Earl of Trenton, is a man of duty. Honorable, charming, and a hit with the ladies, he’s never had trouble staying focused—until now. Lady Alexandra is like no other woman he’s ever met, and suddenly the prospect of marriage seems far more appealing. Now, to convince Alexandra that a life together could be an adventure like no other . . .
