Wings, angels and angel wing hunters, oh my! Sarah Gilman is here today to share a little bit about herself and her Entangled Publishing novella, WINGS OF REDEMPTION.
WELCOME TO THE BLOG SARAH!!!
Meet Sarah:
Sarah Gilman started her first novel in third grade. She never finished that story, but never gave up the dream. Her fascination with wings also began at that age, when images of the ancient Egyptian goddess Isis captured her imagination and never let go. Now a paranormal romance writer, she employs her love of writing to bring the allure of winged creatures to the pages of her novels. Sarah lives in Vermont with her supportive husband and two spoiled cats.

J&K: Who is Sarah Gilman?
Sarah Gilman: A paranormal romance author with a thing for wings!
J&K: Tell us a little bit about WINGS OF REDEMPTION (no copying blurb)
SG: Wings is a novella in which two enemies—an archangel and a woman from a family that hunts them for their feathers—find their Happily Ever After with each other.
J&K: Share 5 fun facts about your novella.
SG:
- I wrote the first draft in two weeks.
- My two photographer friends inspired the heroine, Saffron.
- The clock tower in which Kestrel lives was inspired by the tower at Appalachian State University, where I attended music school.
- I wrote the entire manuscript and revised it before giving it a title; I’ve never had so much trouble titling a project.
- The scene in which Kestrel carries Saffron in flight for the first time was the first scene written.
SG: Wings of Redemption is an excellent introduction to the series!
J&K: If you could write an anthology with any two authors, who would they be and what would it be about?
SG: Jeaniene Frost and Lara Adrian, and the stories would have vampires and angels!
J&K: What book is at the top of your TBR pile?
SG: The first book in Christine Feehan’s “Game” series. Yes, I’m a little behind!
J&K: What are you writing at the moment? Can you give us a sneak peek into your current WIP?
SG: I’m writing a paranormal romance featuring dragon shifters loose in Manhattan! The heroine is the mayor. It’s so much fun to write!

Enemies by birth, lovers by choice...Get Your Own Copy: Kindle | Nook | Kobo | Goodreads
Humans and archangels don’t mix on the best occasions. When Saffron Morin goes to the gates of the demon colony, Eden, in search of her sister, she meets an archangel who is curious one minute and hostile the next, and she ends up the colony’s “guest” against her will.
Kestrel’s archangel psychic talent tells him the human woman’s life is in danger. Despite her family’s association with poachers who hunt archangels for their valuable feathers, he vows to save her life. Enemies by birth, lovers by choice, they give in to growing attraction as days pass.
Even if he succeeds in saving her life, he must hurt her to protect others of his kind, and he may not be able to live with himself after a betrayal he has no choice but to commit. In order to find redemption, the Collector’s daughter and an archangel must first find each other.

Thanks for the fun post and congrats to Sarah on the new release!
ReplyDeleteI don't really have a preference. Love the stories, feel like the setting is just detail :)
Hi, Sarah! What a muti-talented person you are! I loved your answers on the lightening round. Good ones! How amazing that you were writing a novel in the third grade. That's shows how extremely bright you must be. Congratulations on your new release!
ReplyDeleteBy the way, I prefer a Chablis white wine mixed with a small teaspoon of Creme de Cassis, thus a Kir. That's my favorite drink.
Hmm... Don't know about which time period I like the best. I can like them all if the author can write well :)
ReplyDeleteThanks and as to the other question about wine or mixed. Definitely mixed.
Thanks

Congrats on the new release. This book sounds fantastic. Can't wait to read it.
ReplyDeleteI don't like wine, I prefer mixed drinks.
I don't have a favorite time period.

I'm not much of a drinker; I'd say mixed with a lot less alcohol than normally used! I have a special fondness for Regency England (since Regencies were what made me fall in love with romance novels), but I like almost any time period if the story takes place in Scotland.
ReplyDeleteCiao Sarah! "Wings of Redemption" is such a creative, fun read. I'm glad you like wings!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely BOTH, but a cool white wine on a hot day is lovely, and a cocktail on the dance floor!
I'm a big fan of Regency England.
ReplyDeleteCould I have a glass of wine with that?
When it comes to reading romances, the Regency period would be my favorite. Although, I do love to ready historical fiction and history non-fiction also. I'm fascinated by our American West and the period during the American 1920's and 30's.
ReplyDeleteWine or mixed drinks - neither. Give me a good draft beer.
I like any time period, as long as the story is well written and interesting. As far as drinks, I prefer Iced Tea.
ReplyDeleteYou can easily write a first draft in a few weeks. Glad you pointed out that you did. It's just the other drafts that take so long.
ReplyDeleteOh, and I love to read about the medieval period. :)
ReplyDeleteCan I go with "none of the above"? Would much prefer an orange juice or diet coke :) .
ReplyDeleteAs for periods of history, like some of the others, I love the Regency period (too much Jane Austen ;) ), but I'm also quite partial to the present.
"Wings of Redemption" sounds like another fantastic read, Sarah.
I enjoy them all I love all things historical I think my absolute favorite time period would be medieval and I am really into the Scottish history
