WELCOME TO THE BLOG KELLEY!!!
Meet Kelley:
Kelley Vitollo has been writing for as long as she can remember. She won her first writing contest in third grade for an essay she wrote, “Tomorrow’s Leaders on the Move.” Like dreams sometimes do, they fell to the background for a while. She married her best friend, worked full time, and started her family. In 2004 Kelley, her husband and their new baby girl made a move from Oregon to Southern California and that’s when everything changed. As a stay-at-home mom for the first time, her passion for writing flared to life again.Things haven’t been the same since.
With two incredible daughters, an awesome husband and her days spent writing what she loves, Kelley considers herself the luckiest girl in the world. She still resides in sunny Southern California, where she loves spending time with her family and sneaking away to the bookstore with her laptop.

J&K: Share a little bit about LUCKY BREAK [no copying blurb :)]
KV: LUCKY BREAK is a story about second chances. About discovering who you are and what your dreams are. It’s about learning to live for yourself and not others. Of course, it’s about love. It’s a friends to lovers story, about a small town girl who left Shamrock Falls and her best friend for Hollywood, only to come back and realize maybe what she left is really what she wanted all along.
J&K: What is it that makes your hero and heroine perfect for each other?
KV: Kade and Sidney do something for each other that no one else can do. They’re each other’s past and future. They understand each other and are always there for the other. In the darkness, they’re each other’s light.
J&K: Do you have any writing rituals? (blasting music, eating cookies, drinking wine...)
KV: Not really. I’m easy. I have young kids so I have to be adaptable. I write at Starbucks or at home to Dora :)
J&K: Plotter or Pantser?
KV: A little of both. I always know where I’m going, but in the beginning I just sit down and write. Get a feel for the characters. Then when I’m about a quarter of the way in, I plot. Sometimes only a few chapters at a time and others the whole rest of the book. It just depends on the story.
J&K: What can readers expect from you next?
KV: LUCK OF THE DRAW, book two in the Shamrock Falls series comes out in December. It’s Rowan’s story. Jace’s story is book three.
J&K: Author’s choice. Ask readers a question.
KV: Do you like friends to lovers stories? What is your favorite thing about them?

One lucky break is all struggling actress Sidney Williams needs. But when living the LA life becomes too much, she heads back to the small town of Shamrock Falls for the vacation she needs to get her life on track—and immediately runs into Kade Mitchell, her former best friend and the boy next door she’s always regretted leaving behind.
Kade, the new owner of Lucky’s—once the most popular bar in Shamrock Falls—is determined to bring the place back to its former glory, and seeing Sidney again is a distraction he doesn’t need. Sure, the chemistry between them is explosive, but Kade can’t let himself fall into a fling with his best friend—not when he knows she’s soon heading back to the glitter of Tinseltown.
Now, with the possibility of her first major acting role looming, Sidney must decide if her lucky break is in Hollywood or right where she left it—in Shamrock Falls.

ReplyDeleteI love friends to lovers stories. I them because they are already comfortable with each other. They also have that inner struggle of should they/shoudn't they. I also love the first time together because they are always worried that it will get weird. This book sounds great, definatley on my reading radar. This is also a new author for me. I love to read and always looking for new authors to check out. Thanks for the giveaway.

Thanks so much everyone!
ReplyDeleteHi Kelley!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite thing about friends to lovers stories is that it can happen when the characters least expect it and they already have a history with each other.
I do like them! My favorite thing, is the connection, the friendship that one day just blossoms. I love it! ;) Especially when they fight the attraction because they dont want to loose the friendship.
ReplyDeleteFriends to lovers can be a natural progression and in the beginning there's always hope that this may be the forever one. I like seeing the relationship grow and find the strength of character to not attack the revealed flaws. It makes for a sweet read like yours.
ReplyDeleteI like friends to lovers stories because the characters have to overcome the inner conflicts that prevent them from professing their love for one another.
