WELCOME TO THE BLOG BETH!!!
Meet Beth:
Beth Yarnall writes romantic suspense, mysteries and the occasional hilarious blog post. A storyteller since her playground days, Beth remembers her friends asking her to make up stories of how the person `died' in the slumber party game Light as a Feather, Stiff as a Board, so it's little wonder she prefers writing stories in which people meet unfortunate ends. In middle school she discovered romance novels, which inspired her to write a spoof of soap operas for the school's newspaper. She hasn't stopped writing since.
For a number of years, Beth made her living as a hairstylist and makeup artist and co-owned a salon with her very best friend. Somehow hairstylists and salons always seem to find their way into her stories. Beth lives deep in the heart of `The O.C.' California with her husband, two sons, and their dog where she is hard at work on her next novel. For more information about Beth and her stories please visit her website- www.bethyarnall.com.

From Opening Words to The End: A Writer’s Journey to Publication
The madness started on an ordinary day just like today or even yesterday. There was nothing special about it, nothing to take note of. I couldn’t even tell you if it was a Thursday or a Tuesday. I don’t know what month it was. When it started I had no idea the ways in which it would change my life. It started out a slow, harmless leak, just a little quirk. I dipped my toe in and then before I knew it I was up to my neck, treading water and wondering how it all had come to this.
And then I get a message that floated toward me like a lifeboat. I am rescued. In the distance I can see another boat, bigger than the one I’ve climbed aboard. Perhaps this one is for me, too. I don’t know, but if there are two boats maybe there will be more. And if I squint, shielding my eyes from the dazzling sun, I can just make out the ghost of an island in the distance. My destination. It flickers and fades, then suddenly sharpens long enough for me get a glimpse that burns behind my eyes when I close them at night.
I journey onward in keen acknowledgement and gratitude for the water in which I’d flailed. The tide is slow sometimes so slow I detect no movement at all. I wonder if I climbed into my little boat too soon. That maybe if I’d waited, a faster boat would have come along, sleeker and flashier than my little vessel. There are others in the water around me. I see them. Sometimes they call out a suggestion or a tidbit of advice. Their boats are better than mine, sturdier by far. And then one coasts near enough for me to see that it’s is held together with duct tape and twine. It only looked shinier. I run a hand over my boat, admiring its craftsmanship.
I chose this boat and I have to believe it was the right one for me. I don’t know how far it will take me, maybe to the island, maybe not. Maybe it will take me as far as it can, as far as I’m meant to go. I can still see the shore where the maddening water first beckoned. It’s a reminder of the distance I’ve traveled, further than I ever thought I’d go. I try not to focus on the glimmering island ahead for too long. It leaves my present lacking and I need all of my focus on what’s going on around me. The waters are teaming with opportunities. They leap above the surface, taunting and tantalizing. I take as many as I can. Some die, some sprout possibilities.
The madness is all around me. It’s inside me. It’s become what I am, sometimes defining who I am. I am legitimized. I am published. So when people ask I can now tell them— I am an author. I write stories. I don’t dabble in the madness. I float freely and willingly through its dark depths.
