Forever Blog Tour: Darkness Falls with Kendra Leigh Castle & Cynthia Garner + Giveaway (US)

We've featured Kendra Leigh Castle and Cynthia Garner on the blog before. Today, we're showcasing their latest releases SHADOW RISING (book #3 in Kendra Leigh Castle's Dark Dynasties series) and SECRET OF THE WOLF (book #2 in Cynthia Garner's Warriors of the Rift series). Check out our reviews (both totally fabulous books) and there's a giveaway at the end of the post.

Meet Cynthia:
Cynthia’s interest in writing got an early start when her sixth grade teacher told her class to complete the following sentence: “It was a dark and stormy night…” With that Cynthia’s love of all things paranormal was born.

She didn’t start writing with an eye toward publication until 1999. She had a few short stories win some contests and get published in now defunct publications. A move to Arizona in 2000 and a new job put her writing on hold. In early 2005 Cynthia couldn’t keep the stories inside any longer, and made the decision to focus on a writing career, beginning with electronic publishers. Under the pen name Sherrill Quinn, she signed her first contract in September 2005, and her first novella was published in March 2006. In 2009 the first of three Kensington Brava books was released.

Cynthia is very excited that her Warriors of the Rift series found a home with Grand Central Publishing. You’ll get to meet vampire Tobias Caine and half-demon Nix de la Fuente (KISS OF THE VAMPIRE), werewolf Victoria Joseph and human cop Dante MacMillan (SECRET OF THE WOLF), demon Finn Evnissyen and fey princess Keira O’Brien (HEART OF THE DEMON) plus many interesting secondary characters that make up the dark and dangerous preternatural world of the series.

By day Cynthia is a mostly mild-mannered Human Resources Manager for a non-profit organization. She’s originally from northeast Ohio and fled the snow over ten years ago to live in the heat of southeastern Arizona which, this time of year, is about to kill her.

Meet Kendra:
Kendra Leigh Castle was born and raised in the far and frozen reaches of Northern New York, where there was plenty of time to cultivate her love of reading thanks to the six-month-long winters. Sneaking off with selections from her mother’s vast collection of romance novels came naturally and fairly early, and a lifelong love of the Happily Ever After was born. After graduating from SUNY Oswego (where it also snowed a lot) with a teaching degree, Kendra ran off with a handsome young Navy fighter pilot and has somehow accumulated three children, three dogs, and one enormous cat during their many moves.

While stationed in a remote corner of the Nevada desert, Kendra penned her first romance, and a career often spent working in fuzzy slippers and pajamas was born. Her work has garnered both critical praise and award nominations, but the best part has been connecting with readers who share her love of dark romance (not to mention heroes with sharp, pointed teeth). Kendra currently lives in Maryland, and can usually be found curled up with her laptop and yet another cup of coffee working on her next book. She loves to hear from her readers, and can be contacted via email or her Facebook page.

SECRET OF THE WOLF by Cynthia Garner
Genre: Paranormal
Length: 336 pages
Publisher: Forever (June 26,2012)

Once a generation, the rift between the paranormal world and the human world opens, allowing supernatural entities to cross. Vampire, demon, or shapeshifter, they can save the world–or send it spiraling into chaos.

As a werewolf liaison to the Council of Preternaturals, Tori Joseph is used to straddling the world between humans and immortals. She plays by the rules and always delivers justice, no matter the cost. But after a string of increasingly brutal attacks results in humans turning into werewolves, Tori doesn’t reveal her horrifying suspicion: Someone very close to her might be responsible.

Investigating the paranormal violence, no-nonsense detective Dante MacMillan believes Tori is hiding something. His search for the truth draws him into greater danger as he gets closer to the dark realm of the immortals—and to the sexy werewolf who stirs his primal lust. Now with evil closing in around them, Dante must convince Tori to trust him . . . before her deadly secret destroys them both.

  2. Incredible how I started my romance novel love affair with historical and I ended up being a PRN huge fan! What I love about it? Everything! The action gets the adrenaline rushing through my body, the magic twist provides great escape from my daily routines, the romance element helps my brain release endorphyines. I cannot imagine anything better than a good paranormal romance novel to feel good!

  3. I have a couple of favorite PNR series, although I'm more of a UF fan these days than PNR. I like Thea Harrison's Elder Races series a lot - I think it's my favorite right now!

  4. Hi

I fell in love with PNR books several years ago and have blown through several wonderful series - hard to pick a favorite, but I do love Ilona Andrews, Patricia Briggs, Jeanne Frost's series. I have really enjoyed Kendra's series and I am looking forward to this new one. I have not read Cynthia's series but I am adding this to my TBR file.

    Thanks for the chance

  8. I have so many favorite PN series, but my very first was Gena Showalter's Lords of the Underworld. That series also got me permanently hooked on reading romances last year, and I've been at it ever since. Close behind her, I'd have to go with Kresley Cole's Immortals After Dark series and Larissa Ione. It doesn't matter what book they put out, I'd buy it without even reading the blurb.

I've been hearing some great things about both of the books in the giveaway and can't wait to find a new series to fall in love with. Thank you for the great giveaway!

  12. Thanks for being here, everyone! Love hearing how some of you got into PNR...I started with time travel romances, myself, then got hooked on Scottish historicals (Julie Garwood...lovely books, all of 'em). PNR wasn't popular then, so whenever I'd find a romance with magic in it at all I'd snap it up. Times have definitely changed! Now it's hard to decide what to read!

  25. These look way cool. I'd love to try them. I have not read these two authors yet.

My favorite paranormal series is Sherrilyn Kenyon's Dark-Hunter series. I'd have to say Marjorie Liu's Dirk & Steele series comes in a close second, and then Christina Dodd's Chosen Ones comes next. Dani Harper fits in there too. There are several I like, but these are the top ones.

Thanks for the giveaway and introducing me to new authors.
