WELCOME BACK TO THE BLOG JILL!!!
Meet Jill:
New York Times, USA Today and Publishers Weekly bestselling author Jill Shalvis is the award-winning author of dozens of romance novels, including her popular Lucky Harbor books—Simply Irresistible, The Sweetest Thing, Head Over Heels, Lucky in Love, At Last and the upcoming Forever and a Day. She has been honored with the prestigious Romance Writers of America’s RITA Award for Simply Irresistible, and is a three-time recipient of the National Readers Choice awards. Recently, her book Animal Magnetism was named a Booklist Top Ten Romance Fiction list for 2011.
A voracious reader of a wide range of fiction, including romance, Jill aspired to be a journalist. She says “I got sidetracked in college with journalism, and it took a few years to realize I was meant for fiction, not nonfiction, but once I got there, I never looked back.” She sold her very first manuscript.
Jill’s writing day begins at six in the morning so that she can write before her family gets up. She points out that “if I so much as wake up the dog, it’s over, ” and says her favorite things about writing are “being at home in my pjs while working, being able to be there for the kids and raiding the refrigerator whenever I fell like it.”
A “misplaced city girl,” she lives with her family near Lake Tahoe, where she is working on her next book, writing her blog and awaiting the July 31 publication of her next Lucky Harbor novel, FOREVER AND A DAY.

Jamie and Kati: Tell us about AT LAST and FOREVER AND A DAY.
Jill Shalvis: At Last and Forever and a Day are the latest books in my Lucky Harbor series. At the center is a friendship between three women—Mallory, Amy and Grace, aka the “chocoholics”—who meet in Lucky in Love and unexpectedly become fast friends, supporting, consoling and cheering each other in good times and bad. From there, we head toward happily ever after.
At Last is Amy and Matt’s story. Matt and Amy need each other—even though neither of them realizes it when they decide to give their libidos a run for their money. Matt knows there’s more than sparks between them. Good thing he’s a patient and not just a handsome hunk. Because it’s going to take time and lots of TLC to break through the barriers Amy has built around her heart.
In Forever and a Day, we finally find out more about Josh, who is gorgeous-plus. It’s time he stopped thinking he’s the only one who can take care of things. Smart as the good doctor is, it takes him awhile to figure out that dog-walker-turned-nanny Grace Brooks may not need his help as much as he thinks she does. Since Grace has lots to work out on her own, there’s plenty of time for them to get to know each other while they try to deny that they are totally meant to be together. —P.S. I so looked forward to showing the very sexy and not-so-perfect guy behind the capable, town doctor image.—
J&K: What is it about the Lucky Harbor books that draws readers in?
JS: I think it’s a little bit like mac and cheese. Comfort food. There are warm, relatable characters and a guaranteed happy ending. Plus the hot guys and amazing women don’t hurt. I also think readers are enjoying visiting a place where you can leave a bag of money on your front porch and find it there when you get back. They’ve told me they like the people who live in Lucky Harbor and who have appeared in the books (Lucille gets the most mail). And they seem to enjoy the universal small town element—everybody knows everybody else’s business.
J&K: What can readers expect from you next?
JS: Next up is a Christmas novella featuring Mia from The Sweetest Thing! And then next year, a brand new series and another helping of comfort food.

HER LOVE HAS COME ALONG…
Amy Michaels loves her new life in Lucky Harbor. A waitress in the local diner, she’s looking forward to her first weekend hike through the mountains. But when a wrong turn takes her off the trail, she finds herself up close and personal with forest ranger Matt Bowers. And even though she’s tempted to kiss that sexy smile right off his face, she won’t make the mistake of getting involved with the town heartthrob.
A former cop whose life went south, Matt doesn’t let anyone get too close. But something about the feisty beauty caught his eye the moment he first saw her in the diner. After a hot night under a starry sky, Matt can’t deny their attraction-or the fact that for the first time in a long time, he feels the stirrings of something more. Now it’s up to Matt to help Amy see that, no matter what is in their past, together they can build a future in Lucky Harbor.

LOVE CAN HAPPEN IN A HEARTBEAT
Grace never thought she’d be starting her life over from scratch. Losing everything has landed her in Lucky Harbor, working as a dog walker for overwhelmed ER doctor Josh Scott. But the day his nanny fails to show up, Grace goes from caring for Josh’s lovable mutt to caring for his rambunctious son. Soon Grace is playing house with the sexy single dad…
With so many people depending on him, Josh has no time for anything outside of his clinic and family-until Grace arrives in town. Now this brainy blonde is turning his life inside out and giving a whole new meaning to the phrase “good bedside manner.” Josh and Grace don’t know if what they have can last. But in a town like Lucky Harbor, a lifetime of love starts with just one day…
