Rock*it Reads: Guest Post with Elisabeth Naughton + Giveaway

Elisabeth Naughton puts a sexy spin on Greek mythology. Not that it wasn't sexy before considering all the orgies and flowing wine. Anyway, her Argonauts are the kind of original heroes we love to read about. Throw in some Alphaness, a whole cast of drop dead gorgeous men, some trouble with meddling gods and goddesses and smexiness and that's the Eternal Guardians series for ya. But today, she's sharing the first book in her Firebrand series which is published under the RiR logo.

WELCOME TO THE BLOG ELISABETH!!!

Meet Elisabeth:
A former junior high science teacher, Elisabeth Naughton traded in her red pen and test-tube set for a laptop and research books. She now writes sexy romantic adventure and paranormal novels full-time from her home in western Oregon, where she lives with her husband and three children. Her work has been nominated for numerous awards, including the prestigious RITA Awards from Romance Writers of America, the Australian Romance Reader Awards, the Golden Leaf, and the Golden Heart. Her recent release, Enraptured, was recently named one of Publisher Weekly’s Top Ten Romances of Spring 2012. When not writing, Elisabeth can be found running, hanging out at the ballpark, or dreaming up new and exciting adventures. Magic is something most of us wish we could harness. I love books that incorporate magic into our everyday world. What if you could turn lights on and off with a mere wave of your hand? What if you could teleport to your favorite city instead of flying there on a plane? And just what would you do if you could snap lightning out your fingertips?

Okay, so maybe the lighting hands could get you into a little trouble (I’m pretty sure they’d get me into a LOT of trouble), but you have to admit, the possibilities are endless. In my Eternal Guardians books, I love writing about magical characters that wield different gifts. And I’ve taken my magical characters one step further in my new Firebrand Series, marketed under the Rock*It Reads brand. The heroes in these books aren’t just magical, they’re djinn. Or, for those of you who prefer…genies.

In BOUND TO SEDUCTION, the first book in the series, the hero, Tariq, is a djinn prince who has been imprisoned by an evil sorceress. This sorceress needs Tariq to corrupt the souls of women in the human realm in order to fuel her immortality. Because he’s been bound to a magical fire opal, he does this by twisting the fantasies of women who come to possess the opal. To say he’s not thrilled with the fact he’s a pleasure slave would be an understatement. Sure, it might sound like a kickass gig for most guys, but after ten years being told who to touch and when, Tariq is ready to kill himself rather than go on doing the sorceress’s bidding. But when she kidnaps his brothers and holds their lives in exchange for his continued service, Tariq has little choice but to do as she wants. Until, that is, he meets a woman who is unlike any he’s corrupted in the past. One who may just be the key to his freedom.

The Firebrand books are sexy, fun, and completely different from what I’ve written in the past. I love that I’m able to release them under the Rock*It Reads brand, and that I get to work with such amazing women to help promote not only my books but their incredible stories as well. As others have mentioned, Rock*It Reads is not a publisher, it’s a brand that promises quality. When you purchase a Rock*It Reads story—whether it’s mine or someone else’s—you can rest assured you’re getting a professional book, you’ll want to lose yourself in again and again. And I promise you won’t even need magic to do so.

To celebrate the release of BOUND TO SEDUCTION, I’m giving away two copies of the book to two lucky commenters. To be entered in the drawing, tell me…if you could have any magical power, what would you choose and why?

BOUND TO SEDUCTION:
Careful what you wish for…

Sentenced as a pleasure slave, Djinn Prince Tariq of the Marid tribe has but one duty: travel into the human realm and corrupt souls by granting wishes to the women who possess the Firebrand opal, a gemstone of magical power. Ten years of imprisonment have left Tariq bitter, but to save his brothers’ lives, he’ll submit to his endless personal hell, even if it means giving up his own hope for freedom.

When Mira Dawson obtains the Firebrand opal, she’s sure the rumors about its magical qualities must be fiction. Until, that is, she touches the stone and a dark and dangerous warrior appears in her living room, offering to pleasure her beyond her wildest dreams. Soon, fantasy becomes a temptation she can’t deny. The only question left is…will the pleasure be worth the price? Because as Mira’s been warned, nothing…not even fantasies…are free.

  1. I would love to be able to have the power to magically transport myself anywhere in an instant (like Jumper). No more traffic, or driving, and I would never be late again or have to stand in line and go through security at the airport. Not too much to ask for right??? lol :P

  5. Elisabeth -

If I had a magical power it would be to know what a person actually meant instead of hearing and understand just what they were saying! How many times have we all wondered if someone was just telling us what they thought we wanted to hear instead of what they really felt?

  6. I would love the ability to travel back or forward in time. Of course that may not be a good thing because I would be to tempted to change things.

  7. I would like the ability to go back in time. I think it would be nice to able to fix past mistakes or tell someone goodbye that you didn't get to. Of course this would probably change things in the present, so there is a downside.

  8. I am a very small woman so I would want the power to move things with my mind. I have zero upper body strength so having that power would come in handy. I could also defend myself with that power.

  34. Special power I would want changes from time to time. Especially when I read a new book with a neat gift/skill. Plus my decision sometimes is influenced by a character of mine being heavily in my mind.

But really the one power I would love right now is to speak to those long passed. I would love to converse with my grandparents again because they were the rock, the foundation of my childhood.
