Road To RomCon with Delilah Marvelle + Giveaway

Delilah Marvelle. What is there to say except she is Marvelle-lous! We met her last year at RomCon, played pass the dildo and just fangirled the heck out. She writes naughty historicals with a dark side. We can't believe she's never been on the blog until our 1 year blogoversary event. But she's back and she's sharing what Chocolate Mangasm 2.0 is all about. Oh, and an excerpt from her next release, Forever A Lady.

WELCOME BACK TO THE BLOG DELILAH!!!

Meet Delilah:
Delilah Marvelle spent her youth studying various languages, reading voraciously and playing the pianoforte. She confesses that here ends the extent of her gentle breeding. She was a naughty child who was forever torturing her parents with countless adventures that they did not deem respectable. Confined to her room on many occasions due to these misadventures, she discovered the quill and its amazing power. Soon, to the dismay of her parents, she rather enjoyed being confined to her room. She is a two time Golden Heart finalist and winner of RT's Best Sensual Historical Romance of the Year. You can visit her at her website at www.DelilahMarvelle.com or her blog, which explores the naughtier side of history, at www.DelilahMarvelle.blogspot.com.

What am *I* looking forward to most at RomCon this June? *excuse me while I squee and try not to pee* Okay. So bare chested men, chocolate and musical dildo games with readers and authors are definitely on my list of things to do given I'm hosting Chocolate Mangasm, BUT...take away the men, the chocolate and the dildos and you're left with what I'm REALLY looking forward to most. Which is handing out with READERS and REVIEWERS (like Kati R.!) AND AUTHORS (like Jenn LeBlanc and Maire Claremont!). All the readers, reviewers and authors make me snort chocolate out of my nose with all of their inappropriate jokes at the most inappropriate times. They make me eat WAY more than I should (chocolate being the main course). They make me read books I should have read a long time ago and pile up stacks and stacks of free books into my arms. They make me wear corsets OVER my clothes (because everyone should see how pretty a corset really is). They make me stay up WAY past my bed time (midnight being my usual bed time). They make me do things I normally wouldn't (like licking poster boards of hot men -- omgosh, my husband would kill me!). They make me drink (and I normally don't, I swear). Bottom line...they make me do all the things I only write about, lol, and I can't WAIT to see them all so we can do it all again!

She undid the lacings on her petticoats, her heart pounding at therealization that she was actually doing this. She was about to bed a man she had just met in the park.

Her petticoats dropped and she stood in only her chemise, corset, stockings and slippers. Holding his gaze, she kicked off her slippers, sending them into the folds of her petticoat.

She paused, knowing she couldn’t undo the corset on her own.

“All of it.” His voice dipped low.

She tried to steady her breathing. Tried. “I cannot undo the lacings on my own.”

He reached into the pocket of his great coat. Pulling out a folded razor blade, he flicked it open, the metal glinting against candlelight. “Allow me to play tailor.”

Her eyes widened as he rounded her. She jerked toward him. “I would rather you not use that.”

“Why not?”

“It makes me nervous.”

“I like making you nervous.” He grabbed her waist hard and spun her back around, jerking her to a halt in front of him, forcing her to face the open doors of the parlor. Leaning in from behind, he shoved her long hair to one side of her shoulder with the sweep of his other hand and slid the hot tip of his velvet tongue down her throat and shoulder.

She closed her eyes against the sensation, letting her head roll naturally to its side as his tongue made its way to the curve of her bare shoulder. Oh, God. He could have slit her throat and she couldn’t have stopped him.

He paused. “Don’t move.” Grabbing the top of her corset just beneath her shoulder blade with one large hand, he wedged the tip of the razor between the upper lacings and…sliced.

She winced, feeling the razor work its way through each lacing just above her skin, down, down, down until he tugged and the corset tumbled onto the floor.

He slowly rounded her, his boots echoing in the parlor, and snapped the blade of the razor back into its handle. Leaning toward a side table beside him, he set the razor on it, then methodically removed each of his two pistols from his leather belt. He set them beside the razor against the polished wood with a gentle clatter.

It was like disarming France.

And, somehow, she didn’t care.

FOREVER A LADY:
TWO DIFFERENT CLASSES, ONE COMMON DESIRE...
Lady Bernadette Marie Burton may be the richest widow in England, but like her dreams of finding true passion, her reputation is deteriorating. Cruel gossip, loneliness and hoards of opportunistic suitors have her believing Society couldn't be more vile...or dangerous. So when an attacker threatens her life, she finds safety in the most unseemly of places: the arms of a mysterious, Irish-American gang leader.

His fortune stolen, young Matthew Joseph Milton is done playing the respectable gentleman. In the slums of New York, only ruffians thrive. But from the moment he arrives in London and encounters the voluptuous Lady Bernadette, he can't help but wonder about the finer pleasures he's missing. Or just how much he's willing to risk-not only to bed her, but to prove his worth...

  1. So love Delilah's work and this new one sounds great! As far as NYC, It's a great place to visit, but as a midwest girl, I could never live there. Way too busy for me!

  10. Wow. I loved the Scandal series and Gallantry School series. Read Forever Mine not to long ago and Forever and a Day have been on my tbr list for a while too :)

Never been to NYC but have always wanted to. I've always thought NYC would be a great place to visit but not necessarily to live, at least for me. The crowded streets, traffic, and having to ride public transportation would be tough for a girl living near LA where your own car is a must and a convenience.

Recently stepped a bit out of historical fiction and read a Lucky Harbor series from Jill Shalvis.. and those are steamy.

Enjoy the plays and the throngs of people but love knowing I can go back home to the suburbs and quiet. :) I definitely want to go to RomCon and I'm sorry I'm going to miss the Titanic Tea Party.

  27. I first met Delilah when I saw a post on The Season for one of her books and then found her blog! If you haven't visited it yet you are missing a wonderful adventure. Delilah has a the wonderful ability to dig up facts about the time period that you won't find anywhere else and be ready to be surprised!

There's nothing "run of the mill" with her stories and by the time you finish reading one of her stories you'll feel like you've been watching her characters through a peep house and finding out all their secrets!

Be ready to spend the day reading because once you pick up one of her books you won't be able to put it down until you read "the rest of the story"!

  28. Hi Delilah!

  37. RT's Best Sensual Historical Romance of the Year

When I started reading romance with regularity 18 months ago, I stayed clear of historicals because I thought they would be very Jane Austen-ish--a lot of witty banter, flirting and fretting but no sex! Then I found out within the last three months that there are such things as sensual and sexy historicals. Now, I can't get enough of them. They'e almost eclipsing my love of the cowboy romance. ;-)

I live in NYC and I think the only time I ever get to "visit" it is when I'm reading a book that takes place in NYC. lol. Talk about not seeing the forest for the trees.
