Thank you so much for letting me participate in the Road to RomCon Event! I’m honored to be here!
I’m ecstatic to be attending RomCon 2012 as an author. Last year I attended as a reader and it was my first romance convention. I had a blast. I met one of my favorite authors, Carly Phillips. Meeting her in person was such a wonderful experience. I signed up to be in a buddy group and I lucked out and got Melissa Mayhue. She was so fun to hang with. I may write paranormal contemporary but I love historical romance. With that being said, bring on RomCon 2012!
My very favorite of event was the Chocolate Mangasim. It was way too fun last year so this year I wouldn’t miss it. Naughty games and grown women squealing, do I need to say more? Watch out for Delilah Marvelle, she’s a hostess and she knows how to party!
My schedule is packed this year including, Paranormal Slayers, trivia with Elizabeth Hoyt, Build a Villain (Bwahaha!) and speed dating. I will also be at the Paranormal Peace Dinner and Monte Carlo Casino night! I’m looking forward to meeting new friends and seeing old ones. The romance community inspires awe in me. I love the people and the energy of romance readers and writers. I will be around the hotel and would love to meet you! Find me! I promise to have lots of swag!
In book news, Tortured Soul, is going to be released later this year. It’s the sequel to my paranormal novella Desperate Soul. I love my characters in Grand Rock, CO and I want to give you a taste!
Here is an excerpt from Desperate Soul:

She closed her eyes. This was not happening. It was her imagination. Slowly, she opened her eyes and another shadow darted from right to left.
“No!” she said to the empty room. Forgetting her coffee entirely, she set the cup on the table and walked quickly. She looked back over her shoulder — and ran right into Hailey, sending them both flying. Sia hit the wall, but Hailey landed on her butt hard. “Ooommpphh!”
Sia bent down and offered her a hand. “Oh my God! I’m so sorry!” As much as she thought Hailey was a snooty bitch, she was horrified at actually knocking her down.
Hailey stood up, ignoring Sia’s hand. She flipped her vibrant red hair over her shoulder and starred daggers at Sia. “Ugh! You’re so clumsy!” She tugged her short skirt back down.Sia’s back straightened at the angry words. “I’m sorry, I didn’t see you.”
Hailey sighed. The annoyance was clear in her eyes. “Yea well, just get out of my way.” Hailey walked by, her shoulder hitting Sia’s as she stormed past.
Sia stood there trying to get a hold of her temper. The anger made her shake.
“What happened?” Delina’s nasally voice shrieked when Hailey went into her office. Both of them stood while a red faced Hailey pointed at Sia. The more Hailey talked the more she got dirty looks from Delina.
It was all that Sia could take.
Sia’s hands clenched at her side while the helplessness and anger boiled inside of her. “I said, I was sorry,” she whispered. Her hair lifted as a great wind came out of nowhere and she watched as a cloudy line went from her through the office.
Sia watched in fascination, and horror, as the wind rose up and blew papers everywhere in Delina’s office. Books flew of the shelf, the chair was knocked over, and Hailey and Delina screamed as the intense wind continued.Grayson came out of his office. “What’s happening out here?”
Sia’s concentration broke as Grayson ran past her. Delina’s office was now calm. No wind just a few papers settling. Delina and Hailey were standing close to each other, starring at Sia.
“I d-don’t know,” Sia sputtered, still trying to understand what had just happened. As Grayson rushed into the main room, Sia ran back to her desk and yanked the drawer open, quickly grabbed her purse. With everyone yelling and running around, she slipped out of the office quickly and quietly headed for the safest place she could think of.

The library.
At twenty-five it seemed to be, as she feared. She was losing her mind just as her mother had. The hallucinations were getting more intense and soon the darkness would claim her mind, body and soul.

I can honestly say I haven't ready too many paramonal with ghost. Which ghost hunting shows do you watch?
ReplyDeleteHi! I'm addicted to all things ghost related on TV. My favorites are The Haunted on Animal Planet, My Ghost Story on Bio, and Ghost Adventures in Travel. My favorite mix is story telling with evidence caught on tape. Thanks for stopping by!
DeleteI hate to admit it but ghosts freak me the heck out lol. If I'm flipping through the channels and one of those ghost hunting shows is on I change it faster then a blink of an eye. ONce I, on the opinion of my sister who said it wasn't scary at all, I watched Paranormal Activity the movie at home alone when my husband was at work (during the day). the movie freaked me out that I was nerve frazzeled till the hubby got home. I'm such a wimp.
ReplyDeleteNow when it comes to books it doesn't scare me as much. I think my imagination makes ghosts look like Casper when I'm reading paranormal just so I can manage lol
That's a cool way to deal with it! Thanks for coming by!
DeleteI haven't read many paranormals with ghosts, but my husband loves to watch GhostHunters on SyFy!
ReplyDeleteI'm so sad that Grant left the show! I was so bummed. I can't wait for the new season to see how it all works out with the new team.
DeleteMost of the paranormals I read don't have ghosts. I try to find variety in my paranormals and now I can add your books to my list. I can't watch those ghost hunting shows because I just want to laugh and make sarcastic comments... Bad me I know...LOL
ReplyDeleteHi! No! Not bad at all! Sometimes it's sooooo hard not to fast forward through those parts. I have to record these shows because they can get ridiculous. Ghost Adventures in particular. I love the evidence. It must be the personalities that gets the ghosts mad or in the talking mood. Thanks for coming by!
DeleteWow! I love the excerpt! I am hooked...need to read this! I love paranormal everything!
ReplyDeleteThank you for the great post and giveaway! Have fun at RomCon!
Thank you! The paranormal can be so awesome. I can't wait for Romcon. I post all my pics... even the really funny/inappropriate ones. :-)
DeleteThanks for a great post and giveaway! I'm w/ the others. Haven't really read or watch much Ghost themed :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for commenting! :-) I can get really into it. I just find it so facinating. Have a wonerful day!
ReplyDelete*Wonderful haha.
DeleteMy favorite ghost hunting show is Ghost Adventures. Thanks for the chance to win!
ReplyDeleteSomething about their energy makes the ghosts come out. They really have great evidence and some of the EVP's they catch blow my mind. Thanks for stopping by!
DeleteCool Book Have It On My Wish List. My Favorite Ghost Hunting Show Is Also Ghost Adventure.
ReplyDeleteThanks! Good luck!
DeleteParanormal Romance is a newer genre to me and so far I think I've read only one that had ghosts in it. I think the next time I get to the book store I will have to grab a few of yours. I like hearing about different haunted buildings/places all over the world, but can't say as I really watch any of the ghost/haunting shows that appear on tv. If you or someone can tell me of one that is really worth while, I'd check it/them out.
ReplyDeleteI hope that you have a blast at RomCon.. it's on my wish list of things to do.
Wish you much success and happiness
Thank you so much, Christine! RomCon will be so fun. Can't wait. Hopefully you can attend one of these years. :) If you want a really good paranormal show I reccomend The Haunted on Animal Planet and My Ghost Story on Bio. These are real life accounts backed up with evidence. If you want fiction I really love Supernatural on CW and True Blood on HBO. All great!
DeleteI am a bit of a whimpering about ghost movies or shows. If I do watch them, I can't be alone. I do enjoy books with ghosts in them. I guess print isn't as scary.
ReplyDeleteI understand! I get scared if I watch anything to do with demons or exorcism. (I break out the holy water!) I do okay with ghosts because I find it facinating. Thanks for coming by!
DeleteThe Chocolate Mangasim does sounds like a lot of fun! I really wish I were going, but one day I will get there and have this awesome sounding experience:)
ReplyDeleteI hope you can come some day! You won't regret it!
DeleteVery nice excerpt. The book sounds good. I like paranormal books.
ReplyDeleteThanks! Good luck!
DeleteParanormal is one of my favorite genres. I like it all, vampires, shape shifters, demons, ghosts. As long as it isn't yuky gory. I haven't really watched any of those ghost hunter shows. I know a lot of people like them, but I just haven't watched them. I don't like scary either, mysterious is ok. I am so jealous, Chocolate Mangasm?!? And I'm going to miss it? That is just way too fun. Take pictures to share.
ReplyDeleteluvfuzzzeeefaces at yahoo dot com
Yeah, gory freaks me out. YES! Chocolate mangasm! *dances* I will take lot's of pics and put them on my blog. :-)
DeleteLove paranormal books!!! I can't get enough of them.
ReplyDeleteYvette

I'm really into historicals right now but I love paranormal's too! :-)
DeleteI love all paranormal books but I've never gotten into the ghost hunting shows. I'll watch them if they are on but I don't choose them.
ReplyDeleteSome are very silly. I'm checking out SyFy's School Spirit tonight. Fingers crossed it's a good one!
DeleteI love books with ghosts, but are your books erotic as well? The cover is saying yes to me. And I don't really like erotica.
ReplyDeleteThat Chocolate Mangasm sounds fantastic! Please tell us more!
Have fun at RomCom!
I LOVE erotica. The Amulet is not. Depserate Soul is SPICY. Chocolate Mangasm has shirtless cover models and lot's of chocolate and loads of naughty games. So pretty much it's amazing. Thank you!
DeleteI love paranormal books. Love Ghost hunting shows. They are fun to watch. My son loves to read about them as well. We have some fascinating stories about Real Haunted places in Southern Illinois. Love to read about them.
ReplyDeleteMel
I love local ghost stories. There is always something about the local haunts that are so interesting. I have a lot of books on ghosts in Colorado and Estes Park. Thanks for stopping by!
DeleteI haven't read many paranormals with ghosts, but i like watch movie about ghost.
ReplyDeleteMe too! Ghosts are so interesting. I wonder what my life would have been like without my early experiences. Dull, I think. Thanks for stopping by!
DeleteMy kids and I are thoroughly addicted to any and all Ghost Hunting shows :) TAPS, Fact or Faked, Ghost Lab....you name it, we watch it :)
ReplyDeleteMy kind of woman! I just love them. I wish Ghost Lab would come out with new episodes!
Deletestories about ghosts often make me quite sad since they are usually looking to resolve something
