Casting Call with Mel from Bookworm2Bookworm + Giveaway

bookworm2bookworm has such a large collections of fantastic reviews and author features and interviews. They've had some of our favorite authors hanging out like Delilah Marvelle, Katharine Ashe, Shana Galen and Beverley Kendall...just to name a few. Today, Mel, the lady behind the blog is sharing her cast for Rose Lerner's A Lily Among Thorns and giving a copy away.

WELCOME TO THE BLOG MEL!!!!

Meet Mel:
I am an avid reader I love to talk about books I’ve read, especially romance novels. b2b primarily is a book review blog, but we also have author interviews and guest posts. I've been blessed with two awesome women that accepted my invitation to join me in this adventure, and one of those is Kristal (covering Paranormal novels) and Evelyn (covering romance in real life). As for who I am, personally: I’m in my early fifties, married, working, and have grown kids, son who just married, and a daughter just about to. I love gardening, reading and walking, but my love of the written ward spans five decades, from the age of five, and is on top of my 'love to do' list'

Hello Kati and Jamie! I’d like to wish you a very happy blogoversary and thank you for inviting me to celebrate it with you!

Now, as fellow avid readers, you know very well I had a devil of a time picking a book to cast, BUT in the end I did come up with one that last year introduced me to a ‘new’ author, Rose Lerner, and that book is “A Lily Among Thorns”.

Here’s the book blurb of it.

HER SAVIOR – It was him. Serena couldn’t breathe. She’d been looking for him for years—the man who’d lifted her out of the dregs of London’s underworld. She remembered that he’d looked like an angel. But either she’d embellished or he’d grown up. Because he didn’t look like an angel now. He looked like a man, solid and broad, and taller than she’d thought. And now he needed her help.

HIS SIREN – Solomon recognized her as soon as they were alone in the dark. He’d not forgotten that night five years ago either. But Serena had changed. She was stronger, fiercely independent and, though it hardly seemed possible, even more beautiful. She was also neck-deep in trouble. Yet he’d help cook a feast for the Prince Regent, take on a ring of spies, love her well into the night—anything to convince her that this time he was here to stay.

You can find my review of it here.

Its hero and heroine were very unique and at the start I had a hard time picturing Solomon. He was, to me a classical Beta hero, with nerves of steel and patience of a saint. I ran gamut of TV and Movie stars in my head to cast the man, hear the voice, and after visiting the author’s website I finally did.

Ms. Lerner’s casting was perfect. She cast an actor that was familiar to me only because I saw him in ABC’s series for teens “Kyle XY” as a man of mystery, Tom Foss. But once I saw his picture from a TV series “Lonesome Dove”, I was sold! And not just on him, but on a face and voice of Serena as well, as Tracy Scoggins fit the image of the strong willed and independent woman.

And to finish this on a high note, I’ll give a copy of “A Lily Among Thorns” to one lucky commenter and now, enjoy the video from You Tube in which you get to hear Nick sing!
***Due to the inability to embed the video link Mel sent us, we'll direct to the video here. Sorry kids, at least you can ogle the pictures :) ***

  1. Hi Ladies

I haven't read A Lily Among Thorns so I don't know if the casting is appropriate. Nicholas Lea is very handsome though, so I'll take your word for it Mel. :)

  9. Love Tom Foss and I can imagine him in this kind of a role. As for the actress, I don't know her but she looks like she could be the strong character you describe. Thanks for sharing the video link!
