Casting Call with Lila DiPasqua + Giveaway

Lila DiPasqua. She is such a sweetheart and her books are anything but sweet. They're sexy and erotically charged re-tellings of childhood fairy tales: Fiery Tales. Kati bid on a set of Lila's books for Operation Auction last year and thoroughly enjoyed them. Lila helped us celebrate our first annual December Joyathon and shared some cool pictures including a cute tree that Mr. DiPasqua bought. Her latest book, UNDONE, is a twist on Rapunzel and a first self-pubbed title for Lila. She is one of the fantastic authors who came together with 10 other traditionally published authors to bring readers quality self-pubbed reads. Check out the Rock it Reads project.

Casting UNDONE, by Lila DiPasqua

In a matter of days the next in the Fiery Tales series will be released—my Rapunzel retelling, UNDONE.

Here is a small sampling:
Once upon a time, there was a woman who was shut away in a tower. It was said she’d been there for years. Rumored to be a prisoner of her own making. No one knew much about the mysterious beauty. Or the secrets she guarded. It was certain she’d live out her days cloistered. Yet one day, out of the forest, they say her prince appeared. One look at the lovely enchantress, and he was enthralled. Upon hearing her ethereal voice, he was undone… What happened next, you ask? Well, he scaled the tower and rescued the beauty, of course… Was that the end? No, my dearlings, that was only the beginning.

And what was to follow was the stuff of fairy tales…
Inspired by the tale of Rapunzel, Lila DiPasqua offers a new steamy, emotionally charged historical romance in the acclaimed Fiery Tales Series . . . Rescuing this beauty from the ‘tower’ is only the beginning . . .

Maintaining her ruse as a commoner, and trusting no one has kept Angelica safe. But a chance encounter with a handsome stranger lands her right where danger lies. Now, this sinfully handsome man with arresting blue eyes and a polished manner thinks he’s saved her life, when in fact he’s placed her in great peril. She’s intent on keeping him and everyone else at arm’s length. Yet, the smoldering attraction between them is difficult to deny. And impossible to ignore . . .

As commander of a number of privateer ships, Simon Boulenger dresses and speaks like an aristocrat, and has obtained wealth. But he is still not a noble. Or an officer in the King’s Navy. His lifelong dream to elevate himself from his station of birth and attain a respectable place in society is dead. Worse, he’s ensnared in a deadly scheme, and must get out. But how is he to stay focused on his dangerous mission when the mysterious beauty has him utterly intrigued? He can’t afford the distraction any more than he can resist the carnal hunger she stirs. Simon soon discovers that she’s not only a passionate soul mate, but a woman born into privilege. A woman he can never have. But they’re in too deep. Their hearts are at risk . . . as well as their lives.

No, there isn’t a woman with long hair that the hero uses as a rope to climb. (Seriously, that’s got to hurt). But, like every other book in this series, I’ve taken those common elements we all love about this particular fairy tale, and given it my own fresh, different and romantic twist.

In UNDONE, I have a very cautious, smart strong heroine who has been in hiding for a number of years. Yes, Angelica has beautiful hair—dark brown, in fact. And Simon adores her chestnut-colored tresses. Yes, she has a stunning voice. Hearing her sing has a potent effect on our bad boy hero. And he loves her gorgeous eyes.

Simon Boulenger is pretty easy on the eyes, too. With his dark hair and light blue eyes, and his carnal talents, this sexy privateer fleet commander can certainly weaken any woman’s knees.

A chance encounter, late one night, will change their destiny forever. Hands down, this is one of the most emotionally charged books I’ve ever written. I even had to put the Dedication of this book at the end of the story so as not to give away any spoilers.

If Hollywood came knocking at my door asking who I would love to play Angelica, I’d pick Emily Blunt. She looks just like I imaging Angelica to look like.

As for Simon, I’d have to go with sexy Henry Cavill. What woman can resist a man who is highly talented at wielding his…er…sword. ;)
