Casting Call with Kieran Kramer + Giveaway

When we ask authors that question of who they are, we include 'international woman of mystery'. Most wish that they were and well, we like to think that Kieran Kramer is one or nearly one. Like totally legit. She did after all work for the CIA. How awesome is that?! Kieran celebrated our first annual December Joyathon with us and certainly keeps us laughing as we read her books. Kati thoroughly enjoyed If You Give A Girl A Viscount and Cloudy With A Chance of Marriage. Jamie got to meet her in person last at WORD in Brooklyn and Kati's got meeting Kieran on her bucket list for this year.

WELCOME BACK TO THE BLOG KIERAN!!!

Meet Kieran:
Double Rita-finalist and USA Today bestseller Kieran Kramer is the author of the lighthearted Regency historical romance series, The Impossible Bachelors, published by St. Martin's Press. She recently signed a six-book contract with St. Martin's for another Regency series called The House of Brady, premiering in 2012. A former CIA employee, journalist, and English teacher, Kieran's also a game show veteran, karaoke enthusiast, and general adventurer. Without doubt her greatest adventure, which she's taken hand-in-hand with her husband of 23 years, has been mothering their three children.

Colin Egglesfield would play Charlie Thorpe, Viscount Lumley, in If You Give a Girl a Viscount. Colin was the hottie in the movie Something Borrowed (and an almost dead ringer for Tom Cruise).

Adorable Charlie Thorpe is the last of my Impossible Bachelors. He’s the wealthiest of the lot, and he’s become disillusioned with women. They’re all after his money. Not only that, he’s losing confidence in himself—money has gotten him out of every scrape he’s ever been in. He’s almost forgotten how to rely on his own wits.
So on the advice of his three best friends, the other Impossible Bachelors--Harry, Nicholas, and Stephen--he decides to try living without any money for a while. And it’s then that Charlie meets Daisy Montgomery, who at the beginning of the story wants nothing more than…

You guessed it—his money!

Oh, my. Do sparks ever fly, especially when some kisses are exchanged and money becomes the last thing on either of their minds!

Daisy would be played by Amanda Seyfried. She was the actress in Mean GirlsDear John, and Red Riding Hood. I chose her because she has wide-spaced eyes and an almost ethereal, innocent look. She also happens to be blonde, like my character Daisy, and is a perfect foil for dark-haired Colin, who’d play Charlie.

IF YOU GIVE A GIRL A VISCOUNT:
GENRE: Historical
MASS MARKET PAPERBACK: 383 pages
PUBLISHER: St. Martin's Paperbacks (November 1, 2011)
ISBN:9780312374044

All the single ladies want him.
If life were a fairy tale, Daisy Montgomery’s stepmother and two stepsisters would surely be cast in the wicked roles. For years, they’ve made life miserable for Daisy. But when she discovers she has a godmother, she’s determined to ask her for help. Little did Daisy expect her godmother to play matchmaker with her very own grandson—who happens to be a viscount!

Is he ready to put a ring on it?
A freewheeling playboy, Charles Thorpe, Viscount Lumley, is bored with his wealth-seeking female admirers. Not only that, he’s been cut off from the family coffers. One day, on a bet, he rids himself of what little money he has left in his pockets and vows to solve problems using his wits alone. But when the Impossible Bachelor is confronted with Daisy’s plan to save her castle, the payoff is more than he could have bargained for. Sometimes, if you give a girl a viscount, you just might find love….

  18. Y'all, all of you so totally ROCK!!!!

I'm so sorry I'm not writing individual replies today. I read ALL of them, believe me, and they have so lifted my spirits!!! This morning, my oldest child showed symptoms of appendicitis!! He's at college, which is half an hour away, so when I got the call, I picked him up from the student health services and whisked him to the emergency room at the local hospital, where they checked him out, gave him a bag of IV fluids, and some morphine to take away the pain for a few hours. They think he's okay--but they said to take him home and watch him for the next twelve hours. If the pain persists, he has to go back in for a CT scan. So...I'm kind of distracted, LOL!!!!

But I'm so thankful for all of my wonderful reader friends. How I love you!!!! And I can't wait to hear from some brand new readers, too. Please check with me on Facebook and let me know if you like my stories. And to my sweet, loyal readers who've been with me since the beginning...I'm especially wondering what you'll think of the first book in my new series, LOVING LADY MARCIA!!! It comes out Aug. 28th. I hope you'll enjoy it.

I can't wait to see some of you in California, at the annual RWA conference. I had a blast at RT in Chicago!!!!

Thanks again for being so patient with me. I'm really glad you liked my casting of VISCOUNT. I also sent in one for CLOUDY, but maybe it's only one book at a time!!!! That's okay. I can look at Colin Egglesfield all day, LOL!!!!!!!

    Love to you all~

    Kieran :>D

  19. Personally I am not a fan of Amanda Seyfried, but I guess she could work based on the description you gave and for the model on the cover. Colin Egglesfield is a totally different story. Wow I would definitely want him as my hero - good choice!

  25. Kieran did the perfect job on picking out just the right actor and actress to play the part of Charles and Daisy! I'm not surprised since Kieran is a Southern Belle! Believe me they do have terrific taste! How do I know? Because one of them picked my son as a husband and believe me he closely resembled Charles in being an Impossible Bachelor!

He as well as the rest of the bunch of Impossible Bachelors (I think that's probably most of the single male population) just need to find someone like Daisy to show them the correct path to take - up the wedding aisle!

  31. Sounds like a cute story line. And I wonder how he enjoyes living with out oodles of money, though maybe he was too distracted by a beautiful woman to notice.
Amanda sounds like a great choice.

  32. This casting choice is fantastic! They would make a great looking couple due to their contrasts. I am more familiar with Amanda's work and have found her to be quite a good actress.
