Yay for Fridays! It's the end of the week. Time to kick back, relax and grab a good book or see a great movie. Or in my case, spend a good 5 hours sitting on the boardwalk, people watching behind my 'Top Gun' inspired aviators and finding inspiration for a WIP that'll never see the light of day. Without further ado, I give you this weeks Five Friday Faves:
How to Seduce A Scoundrel by Vicky Dreiling. I requested this through NetGalley (my first time EVER) and it was approved. Yay! Anyway, I thoroughly enjoyed her debut HOW TO MARRY A DUKE and couldn't wait to read SCOUNDREL. Let me tell you, I've been giggling since page one. And now that I've gotten to know Vicky through Twitter a little better, I feel like I've been let into a fun secret. There's references in the book that would make you giggle but as for me, it's a loud guffaw.NetGalley. Best.Thing.EVER! How did I not sign up for this months ago? Oh yeah, I thought it was just for super established, ultra fabulous bloggers. I was sooo jealous of those who got a sneak peek into some of the books I've been dying to read and had to wait for. Now, I too can get a sneak peek. Yay!
Seven Day Loan by Tiffany Reisz. I'm not just picking this book as part of my faves because Tiffany is going to be our first guest on Romance Lately. When one (aka the general public) thinks of erotica, they think of some woman in a leather bustier and hooker heels wielding a lethal looking riding crop (which could be the case in some stories/books) but they don't think that an amazing story can be told alongside super hot, make-you-tingle-down there sex. So today, I salute you Ms. Reisz. Check out my review HERE. (18+)Coconut Creme Frappuccino from Starbucks. Where have you been all my life? You wonderful delicious thing, you. It tastes just like those Girl Scout cookies. The caramel delights ones. *sigh* Milk, ice, coconut flavored syrup, whip cream and coconut flakes.
My bookshelf. So this week, I decided to re-arrange my bookshelf and let me just say that my romance section is 3 deep. It looks so awesome and super clean. I debated on alphabetizing the books but in the end, I just put them by size and genre. Sort of. Why yes, I do have the whole Twilight, Harry Potter and Mortal Instruments series. It makes me sad that I can't share my whole romance collection via this picture with you. Oh! And don't you love my bookends?

This might be a silly question... but what exactly is Net Galley? *blush*
ReplyDeleteOK now I'm out to visit Starbucks! Love it!
ReplyDelete1.) I MUST get that book! I love Vicky!!!! So excited to hear she brings the giggles again in her second book!
ReplyDelete2.) Netgalley is a wonder! I've been using it for a little while now and I sometimes just like to look through the catalog and ooggle. Word of advice: Don't request too many! You'll be tempted to request the whole first page- but pacing is a good idea. Helps build a good relationship between you and the people who approve requests if they see you take your time and give each book a thorough review! I've got a request I put in all the way back to christmas time--thank bob it doesn't expire, ut I hope my blog followers are ready for christmas in july! lol
3.)Tiff is great! You're so accurate when you say she put meat on her books bones instead of just hot smokin' sex! It's a deep book! Can't wait to ask her about it tomorrow ;)
4.) I HATE COCONUtS!But i may have to try this one of which you speak! I am not a starbucks girl-but I do love girl scout cookies!!! (HEY- what about RomanceBiggestLoser? lol)
5.)And your bookshelf is so cute! Even though I am anti-twilight, I love the oversized chess pieces! Wanna re-do my shelf? It's a small little 3-shelfer that's about to explode with romance books! lol!
Love your Friday Faves!!
@Belle: NetGalley is a free service where readers (bloggers, reviewers, etc) can request to read books from publishers in exchange for a review. Here's the FAQ. And there's no need to blush. I hadn't heard of it until I started seriously blogging.
ReplyDelete@Rain Maiden: That drink is super delicious and totally dangerous.
Dear Rita,
ReplyDelete1. Yes, you must.
2. I'm pacing myself. I've got 3 requested and approved as of today. Amazeballs.
3. I heart Tiff.
4. Romances Biggest Loser starts July 5th. I'll start then.
5. Sure. I'll re-do your shelf. eBay is a fabulous thing for rabid Twilight fans aka Kati Needs RomCon Funds. =)
What a very pretty blog. New follower. Net Galley is a must for every blogger. Do you do Galley Grab as well? Those book look very good. Come visit me as well.
ReplyDeleteThanks Grace of following! What's a Galley Grab?
ReplyDeleteFriday top fives is a great idea! It sort of reminds me of 'The Brazen Broads' Book Bash' top five they post every month.(although their top five is always on one topic...like top five favorite vampires of all time, top five things we love to hate about romance...etc)....good stuff. Thanks for stopping by my blog page, and good luck in the drawing. ~ Nadja
ReplyDeleteHi Nadja. Thanks for stopping by. I think I've seen that feature before. My Five Friday Favorites is a way to feature things I loved about the week besides books. =)
